"I am seventy percent sure the statue is inside, where there is a passage leading to the Underground Palace, a Visual Maze that is quite bizarre. I didn't dare to enter recklessly. After all, no one knows what awaits inside." 0

The news brought by Card King delighted White Queen; however, she had to suppress her excitement. Until the item was in her hands, it did not belong to her. The more critical the moment, the more calm and strategic she needed to be. 0

"Entering is inevitable. We need to understand the layout inside, how many guards there are, the high-level combatants, and whether Selene is also inside." She fixed her gaze on Card King, who looked bewildered, and instructed, "Limi, this task falls to you. Among the three of us, only you know how to conceal yourself and infiltrate." 0

Card King smiled wryly at her words. He indeed understood how to do it, but his skills depended on the target. What good was knowing if he wasn't proficient? The reason most people hesitated to infiltrate was to avoid alarming the enemy. He knew his own capabilities well. If only that Black Cat were here; he wouldn't have to feel like a general among dwarfs. 0

White Queen understood Card King's predicament, but given the current situation, there was no choice but to rely on him. This was where she fell short compared to Selene; her plans were far from meticulous, and she had few capable subordinates to utilize. 0

Warren maintained a neutral expression while internally sighing in frustration. He had never been optimistic about this operation, and reality proved that while White Queen was clever, she was not suited for leadership. It was no wonder she had always been overshadowed by Selene. 0

Unlike the three who harbored their own thoughts, Shasha felt a surge of anticipation after receiving the information brought back by Felicia. The Black Queen could not be far behind; White Queen had already arrived. How would she respond? 0

As these thoughts crossed her mind, her gaze inadvertently fell on Felicia's eager face; it seemed she could hardly contain herself. 0

Indeed, their enemy was close at hand, yet reason held her back. In the past, her impulsive nature would have driven her to seek revenge against Black Queen without hesitation. However, she now understood that without Shasha's strength, revenge would remain a mere fantasy. 0

Anna, as an observer, had not spoken a word throughout. She rarely opened up in front of strangers; this was true for Card King who had been persistent before and for Felicia now as well. She wasn't foolish; she could sense Felicia's subtle hostility towards her. Although she didn't understand why Felicia felt that way, it didn't prevent her from treating her as a hypothetical enemy. 0

Unaware of the thoughts of the two women beside her, Shasha perhaps had sown the seeds of hidden danger from the very beginning. After all, she never believed there would be any deep connection between them and thus had no intention of making them friends. 0

"Let's go take a look. Your ability to conceal and infiltrate should keep you undetected. Gather information about the situation inside so we can blend in and then destroy the statue!" 0

Felicia nodded confidently; she believed she could get in—something Card King couldn't compare with. 0

As she turned to leave, Shasha thought of another matter: destroying the statue would mean completing his chain quest. The accompanying condition was for him to make a choice: Black Cat or Black Queen? 0

This was a mandatory choice. If he wasn't foolish, the inevitable selection would be the Black Queen, as it was clear who was friend and who was foe. 0

But now, Shasha hesitated. The Black Queen, who had merged half of her soul with Elizabeth, now shared a life with her. If one died, both would perish. Given this situation, could he really bring himself to strike? 0

Then, choosing Felicia? That was out of the question! 0

The punishment for failing the mission was nothing compared to the horror of being forced to make a choice. 0

Knowing he would face a decision, why did Shasha still come? It wasn't greed that drove him; he sought a way to break the deadlock. Who wouldn't want to realize their own wishes? To separate the souls of the Black Queen and Elizabeth? 0

His fists gradually clenched tighter, and a look of determination flashed across Shasha's face. He had to succeed; otherwise, he would be left with no choice but to pick one. 0

Anna, silent and observant, sensed Shasha's inner turmoil and quietly approached him. Her silent support was far more touching than any comforting words. 0

Sphinx. 0

Felicia arrived almost simultaneously with Card King, and she welcomed Card King as her stepping stone. Compared to sneaking in, she had at least managed to distance herself from Card King by ten paces. 0

Unfortunately, the White Queen wouldn’t use her because she had never been trusted from the beginning. 0

As she pondered this, her gaze fell on Card King's clumsy performance. She didn't have much information on the White Queen, but she knew that they had known each other for a long time. Card King had concealed his identity as a gambler and magician while traveling the world. His personality was both cautious and somewhat arrogant; theoretically, experiences should broaden one's horizons, yet this guy seemed far from mature. 0

From his provocation of Shasha to his later interest in Anna, his performance had been quite disappointing—lacking the demeanor of a companion and the maturity expected at his age. 0

If Shasha were here, he would explain to Felicia that Card King hadn't undergone any transformation since encountering Mr. Dread. As he stood now, if measured by levels, he was merely fresh out of the novice village. He was nowhere near becoming the mature hero he once was in the original timeline, even though he had previously assisted Wolverine in freeing mutants imprisoned by William Striker. 0

It was there that he first met the White Queen. 0

With this bond of friendship, it's no wonder he would help the White Queen. After all, he never considered himself a subordinate of hers; he was merely assisting her as a friend. 0

In fact, once this task was completed, the Card King would also withdraw from the Hellfire Club, regardless of the outcome. At least he had fulfilled his duty as a friend. 0

He was different from Warren. Warren had joined the Hellfire Club early on and had fought alongside the White Queen from the beginning, while he had only joined for the sake of their friendship. 0

Once he left the Hellfire Club, would he seek her out? 0

However, that guy probably wouldn't welcome him. He scoffed at the thought of their discord; after all, they were on opposing sides. But it was precisely because of their differing positions that he didn't care what Shasha thought. 0

After some aimless pondering, even though his mind wandered, he still managed to navigate through the Visual Maze. 0

Passing through an underground passage that resembled a cave, he found himself in a massive man-made pit that looked like an underground laboratory. At its center stood a five-meter tall Black Jackal Head Statue. 0
