"Ten thousand years ago, the supreme deity of the Underworld Star System, Death God Karl, left a Worm Bridge Station at your Galaxy System's Chiwu Star. The purpose of the Tao Tie is to enter the Galaxy through this Worm Bridge, and their target is your Earth Star. Death God Karl has always been fascinated by death, so you should understand now, right?" 0

Upon hearing the Stunning Envoy's words, Shasha frowned slightly. "So, a bunch of sycophants trying to curry favor with that so-called Death God Karl have chosen to invade Earth?" 0

"You could say that. Evil is about to descend, darkness is already in turmoil, and justice..." At this point, the Stunning Envoy chuckled self-deprecatingly. "Forget it; after all, you are Earthlings and not messengers." 0

"This isn't about justice; it's about survival. How do you know we on Earth can't fend off an invasion from an alien civilization?" Shasha smiled faintly as the mission prompt from the System echoed in her mind. 0

"Main Quest Activated: Earth Civilization Defense War." 0

"Earth is about to face an invasion from an alien civilization. As a part of Earth, how can one stand by and watch it fall?" 0

"Drive them out and let them know that Earth is not a place they can invade at will, even if it has only five thousand years of civilization!" 0

"Quest Completion Reward: 5 Advanced Draws, 10,000 Energy Points, 8,000 Omni Reputation." 0

"Quest Failure Penalty: All abilities stripped away, life force reduced to zero." 0

Since entering this world, Shasha knew she couldn't remain uninvolved; she had perhaps overestimated herself by taking on the responsibility of an entire world. Such a penalty meant failure equated to death. Therefore, she could not fail! 0

The Stunning Envoy raised an eyebrow upon hearing this and her eyes sparkled with a white light. "Oh? Earth has actually entered the pre-nuclear era? But even so, I fear it won't stop the Tao Tie; they have a civilization that has existed for ten thousand years." 0

"Civilization isn't measured by years," Shasha scoffed. 0

"But power is!" The Stunning Envoy suddenly struck out, unleashing an invisible force that surged forward. 0

Shasha remained unfazed; she simply pulled out a cigarette from her pocket and lit it slowly. The invisible energy dissipated a meter away from her due to Vibration. She exhaled smoke slowly, forming a smoke ring. "Is this what you call power?" 0

The Stunning Envoy raised an eyebrow, her demeanor shifting from lazy to intrigued as she observed Shasha with interest. "Interesting; you are quite different." With that, she slowly stood up and spread her wings at the broken floor-to-ceiling window. Turning back with a charming smile, she said, "I am Shiyan; I believe we will meet again." 0

With a flap of her wings, she soared high into the sky once more like a shooting star and vanished into the horizon. 0

Another smoke ring formed as Shasha murmured to herself, "You really are rude; you didn't even let me introduce myself." 0

In the darkness, the front line of the Tao Tie launched an attack, and the police of Giant Gorge City were deployed, suffering severe casualties. This incident also alarmed the military, which sent in tanks and armored vehicles, all for the purpose of eliminating a few ordinary soldiers of the Tao Tie. 0

Among them was the policewoman Qilin. When she saw the chaotic scene before her, her face turned pale as her sense of justice clashed with her fear of death. She numbly followed her colleagues, watching as fellow officers and soldiers fell victim to enemy attacks. This was her first encounter with such a situation. 0

“Qilin, don’t space out!” 0

Her partner’s call did not bring Qilin back to reality. A laser shot through her body, and the pain combined with a growing numbness blurred her consciousness until she sank into darkness, where a figure appeared. 0

“It’s him.” 0

When Shasha arrived at the scene, it was already littered with corpses. Among them, he spotted a familiar face, his expression faltering with regret. “She could have had a bright future.” 0

Looking up, he saw two Gluttonous Soldiers leaping about above him, and his expression suddenly turned cold. 0

“Big Dipper!” With hands moving in intricate patterns, energy and vibration intertwined as Shasha unleashed his power. His fists struck out. “Collapse Fist!” 0

The combination of force and vibration struck true in mid-air against the two Gluttonous Soldiers. In an instant, they let out inhuman screams before exploding into a mist of blood. 0

This scene was witnessed by General Ducao and Rosa inside the Black Wall Command Center. 0

“The facts prove that he is worth our effort to recruit,” Ducao said slowly. 0

Noticing Shasha's cold demeanor, Rosa thought that this guy wasn’t as unpleasant as he seemed. She no longer felt so resistant to the mission of recruiting Shasha. 0

At least this guy truly cared for humanity. 0

In the hospital, Shasha crouched in the corridor smoking a cigarette, listening to the cries of the victims' families—both irritating and piercing. He couldn’t help but sigh at the suffering this world was about to endure; when war came, humanity would be unable to escape its fate. 0

The weight of responsibility was heavy! 0

As he extinguished his cigarette and walked past, it felt like a slow-motion replay—the crying men, women, and children around him conveyed a heart-wrenching sorrow that made him feel for the first time the gravity of life. 0

Once, I had never experienced the pain of life and death. The world felt incredibly foreign to me, isolating and indifferent. I ignored everything around me, dismissing the strange gazes directed at me, believing that no one’s death would stir even the slightest ripple in my heart. 0

But now, things have changed. 0

Sighing as I sat on the bench in the hospital corridor, a nurse who had just exited a patient room asked, "Are you a family member of Zhang Qilin?" 0

Shasha was taken aback for a moment but quickly nodded. "Yes." 0

"The patient's condition is very good; you don't need to worry too much," the nurse said before walking away. 0

Shasha entered the room and looked at Qilin, who lay quietly on the bed. Both her heartbeat and pulse were steady, making it seem as if she hadn’t been injured at all. The melancholic mood was replaced by curiosity as he approached to examine the surgical site, only to be startled. 0

"Has she already recovered? Could she also be a holder of the Divine River Gene?" 0
