In the skies above the Southwestern Mountain Area, a military transport aircraft was carrying all members of Xiong Bing Lian towards the awakening place of the Fighting Saint Buddha.
Onboard, Reina's expression remained dark, even though Glen and the others had ultimately decided to come. She scanned their faces, noting their awkward expressions, and couldn't hide her disappointment. After training for so long, they still hadn't overcome their inner fears.
As warriors, they must first learn to be brave; sacrifice is inevitable on the battlefield because victory is forged with lives.
"We have reached our destination. Please prepare for landing," came the announcement.
The plane slowed down, and Reina stood up first, snorting coldly before jumping off without a word.
Shasha smiled and followed closely behind. Next were Rosa, Qilin, and Cheng Yaowen.
Once Reina landed, she found a concealed position and used her tactical goggles to observe where Sun Wukong was located.
Shasha approached her and whispered, "Has he noticed us?"
"The Gene Warrior's senses are always sharp. It wouldn't be surprising if he did notice us; right now, he's not acting because he doesn't see us as a threat." At this point, Reina lowered her goggles and laughed in exasperation. "He's still as arrogant as ever."
Shasha raised an eyebrow at her words and then gave Reina a meaningful glance.
At that moment, the members of Xiong Bing Lian gathered behind them. Reina's expression turned serious. "The target is at the top of the mountain in the tower. Your task is to capture the target alive; this is a test of your teamwork."
"Rosa, you'll be in charge of tactical command. Cheng Yaowen, you will make the final capture. Qilin will handle long-range strikes, Zhao Xin will lure the enemy in deeper, and the rest of you prepare for a direct confrontation with the target!"
As the team was about to disperse after receiving their orders, Glen suddenly asked, "What about Xia?"
Reina shot him a glare. "As a last resort!"
Once they had left, Shasha shook her head while watching their retreating figures. "If you keep this up, they'll probably pin their hopes on me. If I don't pull my weight when it counts, your goal won't be achieved either."
"Since it’s no longer serving as training, why should I waste time? I just want to see who among them still has that laid-back attitude," Reina replied, looking genuinely angry this time, determined to set these guys straight.
As they approached the mountaintop, Glen couldn't help but ask, "Aren't we afraid of alarming the enemy by coming here so boldly?"
Rosa whispered, "We're wearing Dark Alloy Armor, so Sun Wukong won't notice us."
Rui Mengmeng couldn't help but exclaim, "Doesn't Sun Wukong have Fiery Eyes and Golden Pupils?"
"Fiery Eyes and Golden Pupils are just a dark energy Analyzer; they're useless."
Glen chimed in, "Then what about the Seventy-Two Transformations?"
"According to Reina's data, Sun Wukong is a Super Soldier with the Divine River Gene, and he doesn't have that ability."
Liu Chuang muttered under his breath, "Reina's data, Reina's data—she knows everything. Why doesn't she come herself?"
As they gradually approached the mountain peak, Rosa, acting as the commander, raised her hand to signal everyone to stop.
"Qilin, go find a sniping point."
Qilin moved swiftly, her figure becoming a blur as she leaped into a tree to conceal herself. As Shenhe's sniper, she was the only one capable of using the Godslayer No. 1 armor-piercing round, making her the main attacker for this operation.
After all, only the Godslayer rounds could harm the body of a Gene Warrior.
"Zhao Xin, you're the fastest. Go to the top of the mountain and lure that monkey down."
Zhao Xin hesitated for a moment but then dashed off like a bolt of lightning up the mountain.
"Now, we five will split up. Cheng Yaowen and Rui Mengmeng will team up; Liu Chuang and Glen will team up. We can't let him take us out one by one. When you encounter the target, make sure to signal!"
As the four left, Rosa remained behind. She had the ability to create wormholes and alter space. While she couldn't participate in direct combat, she could assist others to ensure their attacks wouldn't miss.
The distance from the mountaintop to the foot of the mountain wasn't too long; at Zhao Xin's speed, it took him almost no time at all to reach the top.
When he saw the armored monkey atop the towering Pagoda, he couldn't help but stop in his tracks.
"So this is Qi Da Sheng from legend?"
As Zhao Xin muttered to himself, a figure suddenly appeared before him, swinging a heavy club downwards!
The wind howled in his ears; with that blow, he would be either dead or severely injured. Zhao Xin immediately dodged, following the original plan to lead the monkey down the mountain. This fellow had someone else to deal with him, so there was no need for him to worry.
"Not bad, at least you didn't panic and remembered the steps of the plan," Reina remarked as she observed the situation through her binoculars.
"After all, you didn't send him to face the enemy directly; it was just a diversion," Shasha couldn't help but add some cold water to the situation.
Reina's lips twitched as she shot Shasha a glare.
As Zhao Xin led the monkey down, Rosa, noticing the commotion, warned through her earpiece, "Everyone be on guard; the target is coming!"
Qilin in the tree quickly raised her sniper rifle and aimed in Zhao Xin's direction.
The other four prepared themselves; this was Qi Da Sheng they were dealing with! They couldn't afford to be careless.
The monkey chasing Zhao Xin was just about to reach the bottom of the mountain when a divine-killing bullet shot out.
In an instant, the monkey's figure vanished. Qilin, startled, looked up from her scope and felt something unusual behind her. She quickly turned around only to see a long stick coming at her!
"Qilin!" Rosa watched as Qilin was knocked to the ground, but with the monkey right there, she couldn't go to help.
"I'm coming!" Cheng Yaowen suddenly spoke up. With a grip of his hand, a giant stone arm emerged from the ground and grasped Qilin. He swung his arm slightly, throwing Qilin back toward himself.
Rui Mengmeng hurriedly reached out to catch Qilin. She first checked Qilin's condition and sighed in relief upon discovering she had merely fainted.
However, in the next moment, her heart jumped into her throat.
"Be careful; this is Sun Wukong's trap!"
Hearing Rosa's warning, Rui Mengmeng was about to draw her sword when that club swept through and sent her flying. She crashed into three trees before finally coming to a stop, unconscious.
Cheng Yaowen leaped out, looking at the monkey in golden armor, holding a long staff, with a serious expression.
The monkey scrutinized him from head to toe, suddenly revealing a cold smile, and in an instant, leaped right in front of him as if teleporting.
Cheng Yaowen quickly raised his hand, creating a wall that separated the two. He swiftly retreated, bringing his palms together; two large hands enveloped the monkey in an instant. Not satisfied, he summoned two stone hands to wrap around it again.
At the foot of the mountain, Reina exclaimed, "Beautiful!"
However, Shasha suddenly scoffed, "Not necessarily!"
Just as Reina was about to argue, an unexpected change occurred—the monkey broke free from the stone hands and vanished once more.
Cheng Yaowen was taken aback; that elusive staff had already struck him.
