Chapter 159: Escape
Li Gui remained unmoved by Chi Ruiqiang's words, his eyes still filled with malice as he ruthlessly targeted me. Dark Energy gathered in his hands, forming a swirling black sphere, threatening to engulf both me and Chi Xinrong.
At that moment, Mi and Pang suddenly appeared.
The two of them charged at Li Gui without a care for their own safety.
They were no match for Li Gui; before they could even get close, he let out a fierce roar. Pang's heavy body lost balance and crashed against a tree, blood spilling from his mouth.
As Mi and Pang lunged at Li Gui, I seized the rare opportunity to throw Chi Xinrong out of the vortex, landing her at Chi Ruiqiang's feet.
I didn't have time to check if she was taken by Chi Ruiqiang; I focused all my energy on confronting Li Gui.
With the Pangu Formula, my wrists moved skillfully as I chanted the incantation: "Namo Amitabha, Namo Amitabha..."
The sound of energy clashing echoed around me.
The righteous power blocked the Evil Energy-filled Dark Energy. Li Gui's eyes burned with even greater killing intent as his ghostly claws attacked me from all directions. The Dark Energy, compressed by the air, erupted with a series of eerie sounds, like ghostly shadows colliding against the righteous force.
Yet the vortex showed no signs of stopping; its immense suction pulled away the heat from my body. As it drained my righteous energy, I felt somewhat dazed, appearing insignificant before the encroaching Dark Energy.
The Dark Energy coalesced into a mist that shifted unpredictably—sometimes transforming into a youthful woman, sometimes into an alluring girl, and at other times into a mature woman exuding charm. The woman posed seductively, tempting me in various ways.
Suddenly, a swift figure darted through the Dark Energy with a crackling sound. I seemed to catch a glimpse of a massive serpent's tail flickering before my eyes. The illusions I had seen vanished, and Mi stood beside me quietly like a bright moon surrounded by stars.
Her face bore an unusual serenity.
“Spirit Snake…”
Li Gui grew even more ferocious, muttering something under his breath, his eyes ablaze with a fierce and malicious fire. His claws suddenly surged forward, piercing through the air! This strike, propelled by Dark Energy, was so powerful it seemed capable of tearing apart the entire Evil Miasma Manor.
I was astonished by Mi.
In that fleeting moment of confusion, what did the enormous snake tail and the Spirit Snake in Li Gui's mouth have to do with her?
But in my moment of distraction, Li Gui’s claws had already lunged at me. In the blink of an eye, a crescent-shaped object suddenly burst forth from my bag, rising slowly and methodically, followed by light emanating from another crescent.
I saw Qin Jian, his gaze fixed on the ascending crescent, completely oblivious to the deadly struggle unfolding here.
“Qin Jian!” I shouted, as Mi stepped forward to engage Li Gui.
With a soft thud, two crescents from different directions merged together and shot forth countless beams of light. The beams illuminated the Evil God, shining into the swirling vortex, which instantly vanished into nothingness. The energy of the Evil God dissipated, leaving behind an ordinary stone.
The plan to resurrect using Evil Arts had failed, and enraged Li Gui, who wished nothing more than to devour me whole. However, while he desired me, he could not approach. Entangled with Mi—who was not just Mi but rather the Spirit Snake, a Spirit Snake that had long been lurking beside me.
I slightly closed my eyes. I didn’t want to believe what I saw; I didn’t want to accept the reality. Gaining my freedom, I had no time to think of anything else. I hurriedly formed a hand seal and prepared my final strike against Li Gui: “All Laws Return to Origin, Exorcise Evil and Subdue Demons, All Spirits of Creation, heed my command, Urgent Command! Out…”
Boom—
Li Gui let out a wail, the Crown of Justice enveloping him. Qin Jian and I rushed towards the spot where the plump figure of Fatty, covered in blood, had fallen.
A pile of tattered black clothing was lifted lightly, and Li Gui slipped away once more.
Two crescent-shaped lights floated above my head, and I reached out to catch them.
When I opened my palm, I found it was the Five Emperor Coins.
The Deathly Aura from the Five Emperor Coins would attract all sorts of ghosts, siphoning off their Deathly Aura, making it an ominous object.
That was why it had been split in half; one half was with Uncle Luo, and the other should have been with Qin Ye. Yet now it appeared with Qin Jian. Seeing Fatty's eager desire to chase after Li Gui, I cursed him for his recklessness in my heart but said aloud to everyone, "Don't pursue a desperate foe... We have plenty of time to deal with him. Right now, we need to find Rongrong." I didn't mention the matter of the Five Emperor Coins to Qin Jian; instead, I handed him half of the coins that had automatically split in my palm and hurriedly ran in another direction. Behind the wall, Chi Ruiqiang held his wife tightly, and lying beside them was Chi Xinrong.
Chi Xinrong looked very weak, lacking even the strength to open her eyes.
I picked her up and glanced at Mi.
Mi averted her gaze, something flickering in her eyes.
The talkative Fatty asked Mi, "What kind of monster are you?"
"You’re the monster," Mi retorted defiantly.
I approached Mi while holding Chi Xinrong and said seriously, "Who exactly are you? Where is the real Mi?"
Mi shrugged, a gesture she had learned from me. With an expression of utter helplessness, she said, "Alright! You all know I'm not human; I'm a Spirit Snake. I'm that giant python, and inside my belly is a stone—the Soul Stone of Ma Qi. Because of the Soul Stone, I realized there are such bad yet handsome men down below."
Indeed, the Soul Stone was in her belly, and I couldn't help but glance at it.
The Spirit Snake followed my gaze and looked down at her belly. Then she asked, "Do you want me to give you the stone back? If you do, I can cut open my belly right now to take it out for you."
"What will happen to you afterward?"
The Spirit Snake gave a bitter smile. "What can happen? I'll just return to my original form—a snake, that's all."
"Uh..."
I looked at Fat. This was all his fault; I had given him the Soul Stone, and he carelessly tossed it into the cave of Strange Mountain, where it was mistakenly swallowed by the snake, turning her into the Spirit Snake.
Fat was anxiously scratching his head on the side, and in the end, he couldn't explain what was happening clearly. It was Qin Jian who broke the deadlock with a remark: "Rongrong is in danger; we should take her to the hospital first."
"Chi Mama is beyond saving; Chi Uncle needs help. Qin Jian, call for an ambulance." My mind was in chaos. The Soul Stone was inside the Spirit Snake; she couldn't just cut open her belly to give it to me!
Moreover, her existence was entirely tied to the Spirit Energy of the Soul Stone. If we took out the Soul Stone, she would be nothing more than an inconspicuous snake.
While Qin Jian was making the call, I kept wondering when the Spirit Snake had transformed into Mi and appeared before me.
"Mi, where is my Mi?"
"She... has long since left A City, given away by her uncle as a favor."
How could this be possible!
I was stunned like everyone else.
Han Mi had been sent away by her uncle as a gift, to a place far from here, to another provincial capital.
"I need to find her."
Spirit Snake's expression darkened for a moment upon hearing this, then he smiled and said, "Let me go instead! You, a mere mortal, would tire yourself out on those two legs."
"I still don't know your name."
