Ziya stared intently at the elevator doors that were about to open. Qin Nannan and Liu, not understanding the situation, wanted to ask her something, but seeing her serious expression, they naturally dared not speak.
"Damn it!" he muttered under his breath as he hurried up to the 13th floor, just a step behind Liu.
The blood gradually seeping from the elevator walls made Ziya feel suffocated. The blood became more and more apparent, and a cold chill filled the elevator. A cold wind rose from the floor, revealing a figure inside. A man with a pale face held a woman in his grasp—this woman was Cui Er...
"Let her go..." Ziya said, her fear still present, but as she watched Cui Er gradually lose consciousness, she had no choice but to shout at the ghost.
"You... aren't afraid? I am a ghost..." The man's voice was sinister and haunting as he spoke, his long fingernails digging deep into Cui Er's neck. Cui Er was on the verge of suffocation...
"I know you are Lao Ran... You have grievances, but so do they. What you're doing will cost two lives. Don't you feel guilty? Besides, they have no enmity with you. If you have any unfulfilled wishes, I can help you..." Ziya said slowly, reaching for the sachet around her neck.
"You can't help me; you can't do anything for me..." The man replied in a strange, cold voice filled with despair.
"I can help you. I've helped many like you before. Just let them go, and I promise I'll do anything you ask."
"Really? You can help me?" The man asked with intensity.
"Yes!" Ziya nodded firmly.

Qin Nannan arrived at the 13th floor, but the elevator had not yet come up. Naturally anxious, she thought of Fox Ning and realized that Ziya had clearly seen it activate. Why was it still on the 12th floor? She pressed the elevator button again with all her might; after a few seconds, it seemed like the elevator was finally moving up to the 13th floor.
The elevator stopped on the 13th floor, and Qin Nannan and Liu looked at the 'whoosh' of the opening doors with a mix of confusion. Inside, two people were curled up in the elevator.
"What the..." Qin Nannan and Liu hurried forward to check. It was Cui Er and an editor from the 8th floor. What was going on? They quickly dialed Aunt Li to inform her. The two were in a deep coma and had been sent to the hospital, but Qin Nannan couldn't find Ziya anywhere.
At the hospital, when the two unconscious individuals woke up, they were met with questions from onlookers, but both were baffled and could not provide any answers. With no other option, everyone returned to the building to review the surveillance footage. The recordings showed only hurried employees and familiar faces; there was nothing suspicious involving Huai Ning.
Boss was equally perplexed by the situation. Initially, he thought they were playing a prank, but upon seeing Qin Nannan's serious expression, he called security and other staff to conduct a thorough search of the entire building. They searched for an entire afternoon without success. Ziya seemed to have evaporated into thin air.
This was utterly absurd! There were living people around, yet Ziya was nowhere to be found. Qin Nannan argued with Boss about finding her, while the staff exchanged glances, bewildered that such a vibrant person could just disappear.
As it became increasingly difficult to explain away the situation, Qin Nannan pressed Boss and the other staff for answers. Finally, Boss laid it out plainly: "I'll be honest! You came here because I asked my old classmate for help. She mentioned someone who could assist me and said this person has abilities beyond those of ordinary people. That's why you were able to enter for your internship so smoothly."
Qin Nannan suddenly understood. Initially, Boss had refused because there was more to it; he wanted to see if Ziya truly possessed such abilities. But how had Boss tested her capabilities? Of course, these were questions that Qin Nannan would never know. When they entered his office, Boss had experienced a terrifying nightmare that their intrusion shattered.
"But where is she?"
"I don't know! Are you suggesting I kidnapped her or hid her somewhere?" Boss raised his hands in exasperation, indicating his helplessness. He also called his old classmate to apologize, but Ziya's mentor seemed unfazed and reassured him.
In fact, before Ziya arrived at this place, her mentor had already informed her about the situation here. While everyone was searching for Ziya, her mentor received a text message from her.
It was truly a comical situation; on her way back to school, Qin Nannan regretted countless times and cursed herself and all the staff in the building. Just then, her phone rang with a message notification. She checked who it was from and gasped: Oh my god! It was from her.
Ziya's message read: "I'm fine, don't worry! You can text me, but no phone calls."
Qin Nannan quickly replied, "Boss, you scared me to death. Can you tell me where you are?"
Ziya responded almost instantly, "It's better not to say, but I can assure you that the building won't have any accidents for now."
Qin Nannan was bewildered. Was Ziya crazy? He didn't even know where he was and was still worrying about the building. Damn it! He cursed under his breath, and in a fit of anger, he kicked a nearby trash can. The pain shot through his foot, causing him to clutch it tightly. He glared at the metal trash can and shouted, "Damn it! When did they even replace trash cans with metal ones?"
