Ziya dropped Sun Meng off at her home, but Sun Meng firmly insisted that Ziya and Zhi Qing not come inside. With no other option, the two of them reluctantly abandoned the idea of checking out her place. 0

"Let's go to the clinic," Ziya suggested, sensing that Sun Meng was acting strangely. 0

"Should we go see Liang Chao?" Zhi Qing asked, glancing at Ziya with a hint of hesitation in her voice. 0

"How about you just drop me off at the station before the clinic? I can walk the rest of the way." 0

"Ziya, I... I want to ask you something," Zhi Qing said, turning the steering wheel. Suddenly, her face flushed, and she seemed to struggle to express herself, appearing somewhat embarrassed. 0

Ziya focused intently on the road as they glided onto a main thoroughfare. This road led to a narrow alley, and just beyond it was the World Trade Center. If they turned right at the World Trade Center and walked five hundred meters, they would reach Liang Chao's clinic. 0

As the car rolled over a speed bump, a slight jolt made Ziya pull her gaze away from the road and stare blankly at Zhi Qing's profile. 0

"What were you saying just now?" 0

Seeing that Ziya hadn’t paid attention to her words, Zhi Qing was surprised but chose not to repeat herself. Instead, she concentrated on finding a parking spot to drop Ziya off. Although Liang Chao had a bit of a temper, from what she observed, he still dared not offend Ziya. With that thought in mind, she parked the car and got out to open the door for Ziya. 0

"I'll wait for you here. You go in alone; I'll take a stroll around the World Trade Center." 0

"Will this take up too much of your time?" Ziya asked as she brushed her hair back. She lightly ran her fingers through it but noticed several strands falling between her fingers. Glancing quickly at the hair, she shook it off in a hurry, feeling a wave of gloom wash over her. She couldn't understand why her hair had been falling out so much lately; even when she brushed it in the morning, it would curl up slightly. However, she hadn't mentioned any of this to her parents or to Zhi Qing. 0

"It won't take long; just go! And don’t get upset," Zhi Qing advised with a tone of concern lingering in her voice. 0

"Understood, I'll be on my way." 0

"Okay, see you later." Watching Ziya's retreating figure, a sense of loss washed over Zhiqing. The delicate strands of hair cascaded down her slender back, and she looked so fragile that it made one want to protect her, to feel pity for her, to cherish her. Just moments ago, Zhiqing had impulsively wanted to confess his feelings to Ziya, but the words never reached her ears. He continued to watch until Ziya turned into an alley before finally heading into the World Trade Center. 0

As Ziya walked along the street, she noticed vendors selling flowers and plants on either side, along with a few farmers selling fresh vegetables laid out in neat rows. Upon seeing Ziya approach, the vendors greeted her with broad smiles and warm welcomes. With a gentle smile and polite nods, Ziya took in the scene before her and suddenly thought of Mama Fang, recalling her working in the fields. 0

Passing by the Barber Shop, then the KFC outlet, and finally the Red Flag Supermarket, the streets here became noticeably narrower. On either side were fruit vendors with their baskets piled high with seasonal fruits. The vendors covered their baskets with lids woven from Mao Bamboo, carefully placing large and beautifully colored fruits on top to attract more buyers. 0

Liang Chao's clinic was just ahead. Ziya pretended to be nonchalant as she slowly approached the clinic. At this time, Liang Chao should be alone in there! Sun Meng had just been sent home; she wondered if Liang Chao would call Sun Meng or something. 0

Ziya spotted Liang Chao's car parked on the roadside across from the clinic. The clinic's roll-up door was open, and no one was inside; his coat was casually draped over a chair. After a moment of contemplation, Ziya figured that Liang Chao must be inside. Glancing at the prescription slip on the table, she casually flipped through it. Noticing that it was dated for today and hearing voices coming from the inner room, she hesitated for a moment but then quietly walked in. 0

Inside, Liang Chao was putting away his stethoscope. Lying on the examination bed was a beautiful woman who had come based on a recommendation. She lay there in a deliberately alluring manner, her eyes sparkling like pear blossoms blooming in early spring, stirring someone's heart with delight. 0

Ziya moved lightly, her figure hidden beside the door. She saw that there was a man and a woman inside; the man was Liang Chao, while she did not recognize the woman. The two inside seemed unaware of Ziya's presence. Ziya thought about how rumors circulated about Liang Chao's flirtations with female patients; perhaps now she could observe whether anything scandalous would unfold between them. 0

Liang Chao smiled as he put away his stethoscope and placed his hands in his lab coat pockets. In a professional tone, he said, "You're fine; I'll prescribe you some medication. Take it home and observe your condition. If it doesn't improve, come back for a follow-up." 0

The woman lying on the bed seemed particularly enamored with this small space; even after Liang Chao finished speaking, she showed no intention of getting up. The smile on her face, her longing gaze, and her rising chest… all of this made Liang Chao feel somewhat nauseous. It was true that interactions between men and women depended on mutual feelings for any further exploration; this woman likely viewed him merely as an object for her desires. 0

"I'm sorry, you're fine now; go outside and I'll prescribe you some medication," Liang Chao said coldly and decisively, like a bucket of cold water splashing onto the woman lying on the bed and chilling her heart instantly. She immediately turned over… 0

Seeing that nothing would happen between them, Ziya quickly stepped back outside, pretending as if she had just entered… 0

Liang Chao emerged from the back room and saw Ziya flipping through a prescription at the table. 0

"When did you arrive?" The Female Patient walked in behind Liang Chao, realizing that he had known someone was outside, which was why he had remained discreet. Fortunately, he had foresight; otherwise, it could have turned into a big problem. But who was Ziya? Was she Liang Chao's girlfriend or something? The Female Patient stared at Ziya with a myriad of questions in her eyes. Ziya's clear and refined demeanor, exuding an air of nobility, made her unable to look away. If this woman was indeed Liang Chao's girlfriend, then Liang Chao was quite... 0

"Uh, I just got here. I saw no one around, so I started looking at the prescriptions," Ziya said, smiling politely at the Female Patient before stepping back to sit on the sofa. 0

The Female Patient returned a faint, indifferent smile to Ziya and sat down next to Liang Chao's desk, waiting to collect her medication. Noticing the woman continuously glancing at Ziya, Liang Chao quickly prepared the medicine and handed it over while taking the payment and placing it in the drawer. 0

Once that was done, seeing that the Female Patient seemed to want to say something more, Liang Chao hurriedly pretended to escort her out. At the door, he quietly whispered, "Sorry, she came to see me about something. You can go ahead!" 0

After the Female Patient left, Liang Chao seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. He turned back with a beaming smile and poured water for Ziya with great attentiveness. 0

"What made you think of coming here today?" Liang Chao asked with a curious tone, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. He was certainly surprised by Ziya's visit but also pleased; at least she still regarded him as an old classmate. Previously, whenever he tried to talk to her, she always seemed indifferent. 0

"Uh, what exactly is going on between you and Sun Meng? Her emotional and physical condition isn't great; do you know that?" As Ziya stated her purpose for coming, Liang Chao felt displeased internally. It seemed that Ziya had taken an unhealthy interest in his affairs with Sun Meng. He chose not to respond to her question and instead stepped outside to light a cigarette and took a deep drag. 0

"You should take care of your own business! Someone came looking for you today." 0
