Zhiqing was not one to fear ghosts. To put it in an unscientific way, he was a Feng Shui Master; who could he possibly be afraid of? But the terrifying sight before him was a ghost wielding a large scythe, its icy blue blade glinting ominously under the flickering corridor lights, radiating a chilling aura of death. 0

As the white ghost appeared, Ziya's face turned pale, her complexion becoming ghostly white as a shiver crept up from her heels. If Zhiqing hadn't been holding her hand, she might have collapsed right there, her throat sliced open by the scythe in the ghost's grasp. 0

Their hearts nearly stopped as an inexplicable suffocating pressure gripped every nerve in their bodies, fear crashing over them like a tidal wave. Was this a person? A ghost? Zhiqing's heart raced as he tried to discern what kind of monster this was. Just as he thought to run, they hesitated for a moment too long; they were far too close to the ghost. 0

The situation was dire, with the ghost looming just inches away. Ziya's legs went weak, and Zhiqing turned to shield her, raising his hand to block the scythe that came crashing down. The blade sliced through the air, and Zhiqing felt a searing pain tear through him as a deep gash opened on his arm, blood quickly oozing out and dripping onto the floor. 0

"Run!" Ziya shouted in panic upon seeing Zhiqing injured. Desperately, she summoned all her strength to pull him along and flee. 0

Above them, a thunderous noise echoed through the corridor, mixed with their frantic breaths and the flickering corridor lights. They could hear the ghost's footsteps behind them—thud, thud, thud—as well as the sharp sounds of the scythe scraping against walls and bricks. 0

The cacophony felt like it was tearing at their very souls; each sound seemed to carve into their bodies. Everything was so horrifying that Ziya didn't know where to run. But fate had its own plans; as she pulled Zhiqing through several corridors, they suddenly found themselves facing a dead end. 0

"What do we do? Hah... hah..." Ziya panted, licking her cracked lips in anxiety. She glanced at Zhiqing, who gritted his teeth against the pain in his arm, looking increasingly bewildered. Her throat felt parched and her voice came out hoarse as Zhiqing lifted his injured arm and kicked open a nearby door. 0

Without hesitation, they rushed into the room beyond. Zhiqing inhaled deeply, gasping for air as he struggled to catch his breath. The blood from his arm felt like it had begun to congeal. Ziya turned back to inspect his wound; it wasn't deep but long enough to worry her. Thankfully, it had only grazed the skin. She anxiously watched the door while pressing her ear against it to listen for any sounds from the corridor. 0

Zhiqing's wide eyes were fixed on the door when suddenly he yanked Ziya away from it just in time. With a whoosh, the scythe's blade grazed past her cheek, a strand of hair falling to the ground as an icy breeze sent chills down her spine. 0

Zhiqing gasped sharply and quickly pulled Ziya back as they retreated further into the room. He cast a glance at the damaged door and surveyed their surroundings; something about this place felt familiar. Suddenly remembering where they were, he grabbed Ziya's hand and dashed deeper inside. 0

As they entered further into the room, they found themselves facing a bright swimming pool. The water shimmered under the glow of white bulbs above, casting dancing reflections on the ceiling tiles. The sound of banging echoed from behind them as they turned back towards the door just in time to see it splinter under another assault from the ghost… 0

The ghost raised the Scythe and finally broke open the door. He scanned the empty Swimming Pool room, looking around and sniffing the air, which seemed to carry a hint of blood. He crouched down to peer at the floor through his eye mask, then swayed as he exited the Swimming Pool. 0

A few minutes later, a splash echoed through the calm Swimming Pool as two figures emerged from the water. They wiped the droplets from their faces and slowly stood up, making their way to the railing. 0

"How's your wound?" Ziya asked anxiously. 0

"I'm fine," Zhiqing replied, steadying Ziya as they both climbed onto the tiled edge. Zhiqing's gaze fell on the tiles; this blue speckled design was practically an antique in today's market, but he had seen it somewhere before. 0

Zhiqing vividly remembered a day from his childhood, likely a Sunday, when his father took him to a construction site to play because he had no homework. He recalled that they were installing these very tiles back then. 0

"What's wrong?" Ziya asked when she noticed Zhiqing staring blankly at the tiles, thinking he might be in pain. 0

"Wait, let me think..." Zhiqing furrowed his brow and carefully surveyed the Swimming Pool. The more he looked, the more familiar it became, gradually unearthing some vague memories. 0

Zhiqing led Ziya as they remained hidden in the shadows. The darkness was spreading, and Ziya silently allowed Zhiqing to guide her into a single restroom, where various odors assaulted their senses. 0

Zhiqing spotted a square ventilation duct and removed the metal grate above it. He squeezed through first; fortunately, it was square-shaped—if it had been round, Ziya might have fit but not necessarily Zhiqing. They emerged from the other end into a corridor that was completely different from the brightly lit one they had just left. After climbing a few steps at a corner, they reached a platform. To her astonishment, it seemed like Zhiqing knew this path well; however, it grew darker with each step until there was almost no light left. Finally, relying on his indelible memory, Zhiqing successfully found another safe exit—a corridor entirely different from before. 0

"If I remember correctly, this area is designed as a paired framework with that room over there. Although it's pitch black here, it means we haven't been discovered by that hidden Demon Leader." 0

Having adapted to surviving in darkness, the two felt little fear facing it. However, flickering lights could unsettle anyone. As Zhiqing spoke, he blocked this safe exit again with heavy objects and let out a sigh of relief; now they could rest here for a moment before figuring out how to rescue Liu Yi. 0

Speaking of Liu Yi made Zhiqing's heart tighten. Since the ghost had discovered them, Liu Yi's situation must be extremely perilous. 0

"Ziya, listen to me. You stay here and keep safe. I'm going to rescue Liu Yi. Although there's no way out of this room, it should be quite secure." 0

"No... don't leave me alone. This..." Ziya couldn't see Zhiqing's expression in the darkness, but she felt deeply that it was very dangerous for him to go out. 0

"Be obedient. Good cannot be defeated by evil. Remember, those who do many bad deeds will eventually meet their own demise. I know you have a lot of questions. Trust me, once we get out, I will explain everything to you in detail!" 0

Zhiqing grasped Ziya's hand reassuringly, both of them sharing a firm belief that they must survive and make it out together. Zhiqing gently withdrew his hand, stirring something deep within Ziya's heart. 0
