"Manager Liu, do you know why I've traveled all the way to Southwest Province?" Jiang Chen asked with a smile.
Liu Xifang was at a loss for words, staring blankly at Jiang Chen.
"I'm here in Southwest Province to find the Clan Leader of the Corpse Refining Clan, Li Hai Feng," Jiang Chen said with a grin.
At this revelation, Liu Xifang and the others exchanged glances, their faces filled with shock.
"You want to find Li Hai Feng? He's not someone to be trifled with, Mr. Jiang. He has control over zombies—massive ones, as tough as if they were cast from Copper Water. While you may be formidable, remember that he deals with evil entities. It's best not to provoke him," Liu Xifang warned, clearly concerned.
"Do you think I'm no match for Li Hai Feng?" Jiang Chen asked playfully.
"No, no! Mr. Jiang, you clearly have strength; you're indeed a young hero. But the Corpse Refining Clan colludes with zombies to harm people, and those zombies can't be killed. You really shouldn't provoke Li Hai Feng," Liu Xifang said earnestly.
He naturally doubted Jiang Chen's abilities; after all, how could someone so young possibly stand against the Corpse Refining Clan? Liu Xifang couldn't bear the thought of Jiang Chen walking into danger.
"Manager Liu, you shouldn't worry about me; instead, you should be concerned about the Feng Family. Tomorrow, there might not be a Feng Family left in Southwest Province," Jiang Chen said, his expression turning cold as a hint of murderous intent surfaced.
The Feng Family had allied with the Corpse Refining Clan—this was a path to destruction. If he hadn't noticed the anomalies in Southwest Province, countless people would have suffered.
Seeing that Jiang Chen dismissed both the Feng Family and the Corpse Refining Clan so lightly, Liu Xifang felt even more anxious rather than relieved. He struggled to find a way to dissuade Jiang Chen.
Yang Er, overhearing the conversation between Liu Xifang and Jiang Chen, was even more astonished. It seemed that the troubles facing the Liu Family were far more complicated than she had imagined. The name "Corpse Refining Clan" alone sounded terrifying; anyone would be left with lingering fears at the thought of body refinement.
"Uncle Liu, can this Corpse Refining Clan really create zombies? That's unbelievable," Yang Er said in shock, her accent influenced by her time abroad.
"This is absolutely true; I'm not joking. I've seen it with my own eyes; otherwise, I wouldn't be so wary," Liu Xifang replied seriously.
"Then we should call the police! Let them handle the Corpse Refining Clan!" Yang Er suggested.
"We absolutely cannot call the police! If we anger the Corpse Refining Clan by doing so, it will only lead to our demise," Liu Xifang quickly waved his hands in protest.
"Then do we really have to let Pingping marry Feng Dong?" Yang Er asked reluctantly.
"There’s no other choice; we can only let Pingping make that sacrifice," Liu Xifang said helplessly.
"What’s going on?" On the second floor of the villa, Liu Pingping heard voices from downstairs and came out holding up her wedding dress.
When she reached the top of the stairs and saw her friend Yang Er, her mood brightened. But when she spotted Jiang Chen in the hall, she couldn’t help but take a second look, suspecting it might be an illusion.
Just moments ago, Liu Pingping had been daydreaming about a heroic young man descending from the sky to rescue her so she could marry him. She never expected that a young man would actually appear in her home.
"Elder Sister Er, you're here! Who is that young man?" Liu Pingping asked excitedly after greeting her friend and immediately pointing at Jiang Chen. She was eager to learn about this young man's background and purpose for being there since she didn't recognize him and hadn't heard her parents mention him.
