Chapter Twelve: Let Go of That Sadako 0

Bai Luo knew the power of his own Talisman. The fireball was flashy but lacked real strength. However, in response to the taunts from that Major, Bai Luo was not one to back down. He shouted, "I'm not a mutant; I'm your father!" 0

While he spoke, he was also taking action. Using the momentum of the fireball, he slapped a Swift Movement Talisman and a Power Talisman onto himself and charged towards the warrior standing not far away, who was holding his talismans and a Talisman Pen. 0

Taking advantage of his height, he grabbed the guy's leg and knocked him over. He quickly pulled out his own items and deftly snatched a handgun from the opponent before dashing through the chaotic room. He burst through a window on the first floor and escaped from the private villa. 0

With the help of the Swift Movement Talisman, almost no one could stop him. 0

There was a reason for Bai Luo's urgency. Just moments ago, when he threw out the Fireball Talisman, he received a brand new mission from the System. 0

【New mission has been refreshed.】 0

【Mission Objective: Kill or successfully control Shan Village Sadako before she casts a large-scale curse on ordinary people in Kansas City.】 0

【Mission Reward: 600 Old White Rabbit Candy Points, eleven pieces of Old White Rabbit Milk Candy.】 0

【Failure Penalty: Erasure.】 0

As Bai Luo burst onto the street, he gasped in shock. 0

Because he spotted Sadako at a glance. 0

Not far away, on the exterior large screen of a building marked "Stark Industries," the old, low-quality advertisements had long been replaced by black-and-white footage. The content being played featured a disheveled figure slowly crawling out of a dry well—Sadako! 0

Bai Luo couldn't help but curse inwardly. 0

With this scene, combined with Sadako's ability of "whoever watches my videotape will be cursed," it was undoubtedly a recipe for hundreds, if not thousands, to be cursed right on the spot! 0

This was the rhythm of mission failure. 0

Unlike the previous Major who attributed every abnormal event to mutant interference, this anomaly had successfully incited panic among the people. 0

The sky had darkened considerably, and the streetlights flickered dimly. There were quite a few pedestrians around; at first, they managed to keep their composure and stood still to observe. However, as the disheveled woman crawled further out of the screen and all the streetlights began to flicker wildly, people finally lost their calm. 0

A taxi driver, a middle-aged white man, looked at the scene with unease and said, "Kid, that seems like a mutant... Are you sure you want to go over there?" 0

Bai Luo sparked electricity in his hand and replied, "Do I look like a mutant to you?" 0

The white man glanced at him and immediately changed color. Without saying another word, he drove straight toward Sadako's direction. 0

Meanwhile, Bai Luo noticed three black SUVs aggressively pursuing them from behind. It was clearly the Major and his crew. 0

They had dealt with Bai Luo's Fireball Talisman and realized he had escaped, so they directly gave chase—apparently, Bai Luo had really angered that Major earlier. 0

In that case... 0

Bai Luo decided to take decisive action. Since the Major was intent on causing him trouble, he saw no need for courtesy. He pulled out the Palm Thunder Talisman he had prepared earlier with one hand while drawing his pistol with the other. He disengaged the safety and fired a shot at the rear window of the pursuing vehicle. 0

With a single shot, the rear window of the taxi shattered. Bai Luo had just activated a Power Talisman, and his hand holding the gun remained steady. However, the white driver in the front seat was startled, nearly crashing into a telephone pole. 0

Bai Luo immediately unleashed a Palm Thunder Talisman, and a chaotic burst of electric light shot from his palm like an arrow released from a bow. In an instant, it crossed several dozen meters and struck the hood of the pursuing sedan. 0

In that brief moment, accompanied by a thunderous explosion, the car erupted into a blazing fireball, effectively blocking the two vehicles behind it. 0

Even Bai Luo was taken aback. 0

The twenty-point Palm Thunder had such power? It was even more formidable than the thirty-point Fireball Talisman—truly worth every point. 0

In that short time, the white driver had already stopped the car, flung open the door, and fled without looking back. 0

Bai Luo watched his retreating figure and couldn't help but smirk. Fortunately, he was not far from the "scene of the incident." He jumped out of the car and rushed toward the "Sadako" incident site. 0

Sadako had already crawled out from the screen. With her disheveled hair and white dress, she stood in the middle of the street, unleashing a "killing storm" with her terrifying powers! 0

In a circular area around her, those who failed to escape in time were affected. Some stared wide-eyed, choking themselves to death; others writhed on the ground as if undergoing immense torment; while some, with blood-red eyes, began slaughtering those around them. Under Sadako's influence, this group had completely lost their sanity. 0

However, Bai Luo did not approach her immediately. 0

He noticed that something seemed off about Sadako's state. This large-scale killing method did not align with his memories of how Sadako typically killed. Her current condition resembled that of Mizumura Memeko before—Sadako might have lost her memory as well. 0

He first asked Mizumura Memeko within himself: "Are you kindred with her?" 0

Mizumura Memeko replied, "Yes, her power far exceeds mine, but I can sense that her state is quite similar to mine before—both are in a state of confusion." 0

Mizumura Memeko's words indicated that Bai Luo's plan of "Vengeful Spirit versus Vengeful Spirit" had failed. 0

However, during this brief moment, Bai Luo was not idle; he had found what he needed in the System Mall. 0

It was a Binding Ghost Talisman, an Artifact that, when used, could conjure a Locking Ghost light chain specifically designed to deal with such Vengeful Spirits. 0

Bai Luo paused slightly, formulating a strategy, and then asked, "Can you guarantee that I won't be affected by her mental control?" 0

Mizumura Memeko replied, "That 'Kindred' doesn't intentionally influence anyone; she is just engaged in large-scale slaughter. I... should be able to manage it." 0

Bai Luo let out a sigh of relief; at least he still had some points left for exchanging Talismans. 0

Without further hesitation, he used the Talisman in his hand, transforming it into a long chain of light. With a shout, he charged forward recklessly. 0
