Chapter Fifty-Eight: Sadako
Tony had actually misunderstood Bai Luo.
The one dancing gracefully with Bai Luo at that moment was none other than Sadako.
Bai Luo immediately spotted the bald figure, and according to his original plan, he was supposed to land outside and then fight his way in. Although his System points had long been squandered, he could still draw talismans. He had a whole stack of Palm Thunder Talismans in his possession.
Thus, Bai Luo intended to come in and deal with anyone he encountered by unleashing a Palm Thunder, clearing the area swiftly.
However, he never expected that Sadako would not follow the plan and instead brought him down into the grand ballroom on the second floor. The moment they landed, Sadako revealed her form and gently took Bai Luo's hand with her pale, cold fingers.
At that moment, Bai Luo turned around and met Sadako's watery gaze.
In the enchanting light, Sadako wore a long white dress, her eyes shimmering with a certain glow.
When she wasn’t letting out terrifying screams with her hair disheveled, Sadako looked like a figure from a painting. She gazed at the close proximity of Bai Luo and softly spoke, "I brought you here, but before you start your rampage, will you dance with me?"
Performing was a wish of Sadako's when she was alive; dancing was also her favorite. However, fate had led this girl down an entirely different path. The scene around them stirred such thoughts within her, which Bai Luo found unsurprising.
Meanwhile, Mizumura Memeko, who was threatening Obadiah Stane over the phone, exclaimed like an onlooker, "Wow!"
With such an invitation from a beauty, Bai Luo had no reason to refuse. Moreover, this was Sadako's long-held desire and dream.
Although Bai Luo felt that dancing in such an occasion was somewhat awkward, with a beauty by his side, all problems seemed trivial.
As for Tony... who was Tony?
Bai Luo came to a halt, gently wrapping his arms around Sadako's soft waist, which felt so real.
It was a graceful dance. Bai Luo didn't actually know how to dance, but Sadako did. She seemed to possess a natural charm that could draw her dance partner into her own rhythm.
The white hem of her dress twirled and fluttered as she spun.
She smiled at Bai Luo, and it was the first time he had seen her smile since she regained her memories. It was enchanting and breathtaking, like a finely crafted porcelain piece.
The elegant dance of these two Easterners captivated the entire audience. People involuntarily paused their movements, watching this scene unfold with genuine admiration.
Standing off to the side, Coulson immediately recognized Bai Luo. He thought Bai Luo had come at Tony's invitation, and that the girl in the flowing white dress was his partner. However, as a friend, Coulson truly felt impressed. He even remarked to a nearby socialite, "This might be what they call poetic beauty in Eastern culture."
Indeed, this guy was completely absorbed by the two dancers and had no awareness of Tony's current awkward predicament.
Until a heart-wrenching shout shattered the beauty and tranquility.
"Bai Luo!" Tony's voice was filled with an inexplicable sorrow. "I'm being chased while you're busy flirting!"
As soon as Tony spoke up, several terrorists in the crowd realized their cover was blown. They quickly shifted from stealthy assassination to open attack. With the Bald Boss as their target, a dozen terrorists drew their guns without hesitation and opened fire.
In an instant, chaos erupted. People screamed as Coulson drew his weapon to return fire, while Bai Luo and Sadako slowly came to a stop.
Sadako wore a faint smile on her face as she said, "Annoying fellow."
At the same moment, Tony, who was dragging Potts towards Bai Luo, suddenly collapsed.
Bai Luo remained silent.
Sadako's expression shifted back to that of an ice queen, and her form began to fade away. "Once again, thank you. As for these pests, leave them to me."
With that, she completely vanished before Bai Luo, and immediately afterward, the terrorists who had just aimed to shoot Tony suddenly turned their guns on each other and began firing.
Even Coulson was taken aback, unsure of what was happening. How did these terrorists end up fighting among themselves?
Meanwhile, Tony, who had just gotten back on his feet, rushed over to Bai Luo with an angry expression. "I called you for help, and you come here to flirt instead?"
Bai Luo replied, "I wasn't flirting!"
"Everyone saw it!" Tony shot back.
In Bai Luo's mind, Mizumura Memeko silently commented, "That wasn't flirting; you've already caught Sister Sadako's attention."
Bai Luo retorted, "Stop talking!"
"You want me to stop talking?" Tony exclaimed. "I thought we were friends..."
Potts interjected, "Who exactly is he? Is he really your friend?"
"He is not my friend."
"Bai Luo said, 'No, no, no, we are, Ms. Potts. The situation here is a bit complicated.'"
"Wasn't it you who made me fall just now?" This was Tony.
"What? How did you get to that?"
"It must be because I interrupted your good time with your girlfriend, so you used your Eastern techniques to trip me."
Bai Luo took a deep breath and, in front of Potts, swung his hand and gave Tony a smack on the forehead.
Tony fell backward in response.
Bai Luo looked at the stunned Pepper, shrugged, and laughed, "See? Not only did I trip him, but I also dared to hit him."
The situation in the room had descended into chaos.
About two hours later, in Tony's mansion.
"So you're saying that before I even got a chance to act, Obadiah Stane had already lost his mind?" This was Tony Stark, who was eating a hamburger while looking at the report from Rhodes about the aftermath of the Disney Concert Hall incident.
Pepper couldn't help but glance at Bai Luo sitting on the other side. "Yes, after the concert hall incident ended, they found Mr. Obadiah Stane in the restroom. He had already gone insane and was just shouting for his mother. As for why he suddenly went crazy, that is still under investigation."
Tony nodded and asked, "What about the Ten Rings terrorists?"
"Most of them died from infighting. Their leader was shot in the leg and has already been captured."
Tony exhaled, unable to resist glancing over at Bai Luo.
Bai Luo was currently frowning at the hamburger in his hand. Noticing Tony's gaze, he remarked, "This cheeseburger is terrible. Next time I go to China, I'll treat you to some Guo Bao Rou."
Tony nodded at Potts, signaling that she could leave. Once Pepper was gone, Tony said, "Those terrorists killing each other, and Obadiah Stane's madness—it's all connected to you, isn't it?"
Bai Luo smiled and replied, "Aren't you the one who asked me to solve the problem?"
Tony stared at him for a moment and said, "Sometimes I really think you're a terrifying person. Luckily, we're not enemies."
