Chapter Seventy-Five: Doctor Strange 0

The last Reincarnator of this team fell at the hands of Steve Rogers, a barrier master. 0

Steve, rather carefree, placed Bruce Banner's unconscious body next to that of the Reincarnator. 0

When Bai Luo caught sight of the two in the flickering firelight, he initially thought that Banner was also dead. Fortunately, Bruce Banner was merely in a state of unconsciousness. 0

Meanwhile, military forces were rushing to clean up the aftermath, but The Ancient One had vanished without a trace, just as she had appeared. 0

This Supreme Sorcerer had assisted Bai Luo significantly. The Daoist Reincarnator was a B-Rank, and his strength was worlds apart from the several opponents Bai Luo had faced previously. His Flying Sword had even managed to cut through The Ancient One's mirrored dimensional space. Without her intervention, Bai Luo knew he wouldn't have been able to withstand that strike. 0

Moreover, The Ancient One seemed to possess knowledge about Alternate Dimensions and similar concepts. 0

Thus, from their first meeting, Bai Luo had wanted to discuss matters with her. However, The Ancient One appeared to have no intention of engaging; she was as elusive as ever. Bai Luo currently lacked the time to visit Kamar-Taj for a formal meeting. 0

Nonetheless, this battle had yielded considerable gains for Bai Luo. Although he did not receive the points from the Reincarnator killed by Rogers and neither of them had anything valuable on them, the twenty-five thousand points from that B-Class Reincarnator were an unprecedented fortune for him. The points earned by a Kill-level Ability User were on an entirely different scale compared to those earned by a Kill B-Rank Ability User. With these over twenty thousand points, Bai Luo believed his strength could leap forward significantly. 0

Sadako and Mizumura Memeko had long since returned to Bai Luo's body, but for some reason, both Vengeful Spirits appeared somewhat listless—perhaps due to their recent confrontation with the Reincarnator. 0

Bai Luo and Steve waited by Banner's side for Nick and his large team to arrive. 0

"I've heard your name," Steve said. "About twenty years ago, you saved a city." 0

Bai Luo rubbed his nose and shamelessly replied, "It was nothing much." 0

Steve couldn't help but glance at the guy, momentarily unsure of how to respond to Bai Luo's awkward attempt at conversation. 0

However, Bai Luo wasn't planning to delve deeper into that topic with Steve. He smoothly shifted the subject, saying, "Has Nick Fury discussed his plans with you?" 0

Steve furrowed his brow slightly. "What plans?" 0

Bai Luo replied, "The idea of forming an organization composed of superheroes." 0

Steve had certainly heard of it. He responded, "The Avengers?" 0

Bai Luo smiled and said, "Yes." 0

Captain America studied Bai Luo for a moment, realizing the implication behind his question. He said, "I've been thinking about it for a while now, but after today's events, I believe I have my answer." 0

This time, the commotion caused by the Reincarnator in New York City would have profound effects on this world. 0

Of course, those effects might have already begun to manifest. 0

In places Bai Luo had yet to reach, changes were quietly occurring in this world—some even significant upheavals—waiting only for a spark to ignite them. 0

Bai Luo pondered for a moment and asked, "Hmm... Steve, have you ever thought about switching sides?" 0

Steve replied, "Huh?" 0

Bai Luo rubbed his chin thoughtfully. He considered that conversations with Captain America always carried an inexplicable seriousness. After a moment's thought, he decided to change the subject entirely. "Steve." 0

"Yeah?" 0

"Have you ever seen the Sunshine Cornfield in Kansas?" 0

"Huh?" Captain America was a bit confused, not understanding why Bai Luo had suddenly come here. 0

"If we get the chance, let's go take a look. I hear it's beautiful there." 0

Captain America thought for a moment, assuming Bai Luo was referring to his sister's situation. After all, Bai Luo had learned about Captain America's circumstances from Hill, and Captain America had also gathered some information about Bai Luo. So he said, "Sure... but I think you should go to the hospital first. Your hand..." 0

At this, Steve glanced at Bai Luo's right hand. 0

That hand was twisted in an unnatural position, looking quite terrible. 0

Bai Luo glanced at it in the distant firelight and said, "It hurt a lot at first, but now it doesn't hurt if I don't look at it." 0

Hearing this, Steve couldn't help but twitch his mouth, momentarily unsure how to respond. 0

Just then, the sound of cars roaring in the distance finally approached. Nick Fury soon rushed over with his team, while several other groups began to clear the battlefield. 0

It must be said that Blacklight had truly grasped the concept of superheroes—when you all were fighting, I didn't send a single ordinary soldier; now that you're done, I send people as quickly as possible to clean up the mess. 0

Seeing Nick Fury from afar, Bai Luo raised his right hand and shouted, "Boss! I'm injured! Work-related injury! I need reimbursement for my hospital bills! Do I have any funds or anything like that?" 0

Nick Fury, who was coming over with Hill, nearly stumbled because of that statement. 0

After listening for a while, Steve quietly stood up and walked away. 0

Of course, despite shouting earlier, when Nick Fury reached his side, Bai Luo stopped with the nonsense and directly asked, "What’s happening elsewhere tonight?" 0

Nick Fury raised an eyebrow slightly and said, "Looks like we've got a situation." 0

Bai Luo asked, "What happened?" 0

Fury replied, "You'd better take care of your injuries. I'll contact the best orthopedic and neurology doctors for you." 0

Bai Luo pressed, "What exactly is going on?" 0

Nick met his gaze for a moment before exhaling deeply. "It's Emil Blonsky. He has transformed into a monster similar to the Hulk." 0

"But just now, he saw the outcome of the battle here and ran off, so... that's why we were a bit late." 0

Bai Luo shook his head and smiled, not saying much more. 0

However, Bai Luo's smile sparked some doubt in Nick. He asked, "What do you know about Emil Blonsky?" 0

Bai Luo chose not to respond and simply leaned back, saying, "I think I can't feel my hand anymore. Ah, I might be dying." 0

Nick retorted, "Can you pretend any harder?" 0

Bai Luo promptly closed his eyes and said nothing further. 0

—It seemed that Emil Blonsky had truly taken his words to heart. 0

Bai Luo had a plan. 0

He wasn't a Reincarnator; he couldn't traverse through infinite dimensions, but that might not necessarily be a bad thing. 0

The world he found himself in was truly fascinating. 0

And now it seemed he had enough time to accomplish some things, making this already exciting world even more thrilling. 0

This long journey finally came to a close with the death of the Reincarnator and Hulk reverting back to Banner. Bai Luo was pushed into a rushing ambulance, being taken to the hospital in a swaying vehicle. 0

For some reason, Bai Luo felt increasingly drowsy, his eyelids growing heavier. His hand didn’t hurt much, and he wasn’t too worried—after all, he had the System with him, and this was a chaotic Marvel Universe where even if his hand were chopped off, there would still be a chance for it to be reattached. 0

However, there was one thing on his mind that made him reluctant to simply drift off to sleep. 0

When he was wheeled into the hospital and saw his attending physician, known for his long face and called Strange, Bai Luo tightly grasped the doctor’s hand and earnestly said, “I want general anesthesia.” 0

Then he let go of Doctor Strange’s hand and slumped onto the bed in a relaxed manner. He spoke to Mizumura Memeko in his mind, “If anyone from Hydra—well, you don’t know what Hydra is—if anyone plans to do something bad to me, just call them like crazy.” 0

Mizumura Memeko appeared strangely lethargic after battling that Daoist. She seemed unusually low-spirited and merely responded with an “oh,” indicating she understood. 0

And with that, Bai Luo closed his eyes. 0

Bai Luo had a dream. 0

In the dream, he returned to his school days, arguing with the girl sitting next to him about which magical girl was the prettiest. The outcome was quite disastrous. 0

The girl said, “I’m never talking to you again. 0

“The eraser you used is mine; give it back! 0

“The pencil you used is mine; give it back!” 0

"You used the fountain pen that Dad gave me for my birthday. Give it back!" 0

Bai Luo leaned over the table, staring at the girl who looked about seven or eight years old for a moment before striking like lightning, planting a kiss on her lips. 0

So sweet. 0

Bai Luoxin thought. 0

Above them, the teacher asked, "What are you doing?" 0

... 0

... 0

Then Bai Luo woke up. 0

The first thing he saw was the soft, warm sunlight streaming through the translucent curtains from outside, and he could smell the unique scent of disinfectant. 0

It was a rare and peaceful scene. 0

But Bai Luo was still immersed in the dream he had just experienced. He smacked his lips as if savoring something, then turned his head and saw Lorna sitting on the other side. 0

Lorna was staring at him with wide eyes. 0

He didn't know when she had dyed her green hair black again. She wore various iron rings and necklaces on her wrists, ankles, and neck. Those who knew understood that this was to facilitate her ability; those who didn't might think this pale-faced girl was a runaway drug addict. 0

However, Bai Luo truly did not expect to see Lorna here, and he felt a bit surprised. 0

Lorna Dane seemed to have noticed Bai Luo's surprise. She said with irritation, "Whoever brought me here with that Blacklight, I will follow them. Otherwise, treat me like a terrorist among mutants and throw me in prison." 0

Bai Luo couldn't help but cough lightly and said, "You need to understand... Nick Fury meant well." 0

Lorna glanced at him, thought for a moment, and asked, "What... happened to you?" 0

Bai Luo lowered his head, looking at his hand wrapped in layers of bandages. "I can't feel my right hand, but it should be fine." 0

This was the truth. Strange was an absolutely top-notch doctor and the future Sorcerer Supreme. If Bai Luo couldn't trust him, who else could he trust? 0
