At the same moment, in Asgard.
Upon hearing Bai Luo's words, Loki, who had been relatively calm, couldn't help but be slightly taken aback—how could this person think of that so quickly?
Bai Luo was already laughing on Earth, "So it seems that Odin must have fallen into Odin's Sleep? If that's the case... let's change the terms of my kidnapping. I will guarantee Thor's safety if you are willing to hand over the Life Stone Tablet and the Ancient Winter Coffin. I will return Thor to you. Of course, if you take any extreme measures or ignore me, I will find a way to temper Thor's character, making sure he learns to wield his hammer again and then come after you."
"As for these four Asgardians, since you've brought them here, I'll temporarily place them in a prison on Earth for safekeeping."
"Rest assured, as long as you don't back down, none of them will die."
Bai Luo's integrity was unwavering.
However, his words instantly enraged Loki, far away in Asgard.
This was visibly expressed by the Destroyer before Bai Luo, which suddenly raised its helmet. A beam of destructive light shot out from its eyes like lightning, fiercely aimed at Bai Luo.
Yet Bai Luo seemed to have anticipated this scene; he retreated at once, effortlessly dodging the beam of light.
Bai Luo knew very well that with Loki's personality, he would immediately take action. After doing so, he had two possible choices.
First, he could comply with Bai Luo's demands and hand over the Life Stone Tablet and the Ancient Winter Coffin; second, he might just run to Earth and confront him directly.
But for now, Bai Luo needed to deal with the trouble posed by the Iron Giant.
The massive Destroyer thundered forward, its laser beams sweeping everywhere. Wherever the light reached, the ground was scorched into deep ravines, and buildings on either side collapsed in an instant with a resounding crash.
Even Logan and his companions began to retreat.
Bai Luo also fell back while recalling how Thor had defeated this creature in Thor.
He only remembered that its appearance had completely awakened Thor's Primordial power, allowing him to swing Mjolnir and strike it down.
Bai Luo couldn't help but glance at the frying pan in his hand. Although it was quite handy, he still shook his head, retreating while pulling out one item after another.
Logan, however, was quite accommodating. Once he promised to help Bai Luo, he wouldn't hold back. Lacking any ranged abilities, he let out a furious roar and unleashed his Adamantium Wolf Claws, charging directly at the Destroyer not far away.
Just as the Destroyer's laser beam ended, it faced the charging Wolverine and retaliated with a punch, sending Wolverine crashing back to the ground. However, its fist also bore three terrifying claw marks.
In Marvel comics, the material used to create the Destroyer is undoubtedly superior to Adamantium, but here, this version of the Destroyer was a toned-down version and naturally couldn't have such high specifications.
After this brief clash, the Destroyer's raised armor quickly fell again, and this time it began spewing forth intense flames from its "face."
Logan swiftly retreated to avoid the fiery onslaught.
In the comics, the Destroyer is incredibly powerful—capable of crushing Mjolnir with its bare hands and overwhelming Thor—but here, it was indeed a diminished version. Although it started off impressively, under the combined assault of Bai Luo and Logan, it could not unleash its full might like in the comics.
However, this time the Destroyer did not engage in a desperate fight to the end with Bai Luo and Logan. After just a few minutes of reversal in circumstances, the massive body of the Destroyer suddenly retreated from the battle and was promptly teleported back to Asgard before everyone's eyes.
This was quite reasonable; Bai Luo wasn't a pawn, and Loki had no need or desire to engage in a prolonged struggle with him. Loki wasn't truly a manic individual; while he could be angry at times, he was more often rational and contemplative. Of course, what often led him to make foolish decisions were his endless schemes as the God of Mischief.
Thus, realizing that the Destroyer could not achieve his goals, Loki decisively recalled it—a correct choice without a doubt.
For Bai Luo, this also served as information—Loki might be considering accepting his "request."
Of course, the process might not go smoothly; Bai Luo had already made plans for that.
As the Destroyer vanished, Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team arrived late as usual to clean up the battlefield.
While Loki could manage his own Destroyer, he wouldn't concern himself with Thor's four unfortunate companions. Those who had been knocked out by Bai Luo using the frying pan were all apprehended by Coulson.
With a skeptical expression, Coulson turned to Bai Luo and asked, "Was it similar people who were teleported to Earth last night?"
"Exactly," Bai Luo nodded vigorously, "and I've already humanely eradicated them."
Phil Coulson smacked his lips, looking at the man who wore an expression of "I'm just talking nonsense," and exclaimed, "What about Jane Foster?"
Bai Luo chuckled, "She might have been humanely eradicated by the aliens."
Coulson sighed, turning to gaze at the already devastated streets of Old Bridge Town. "These people possess such incredible abilities, able to come and go as they please. They might be the greatest threat to Earth we've seen in many years."
Bai Luo remained silent. He understood that Coulson's concerns mirrored those of the higher-ups at S.H.I.E.L.D. While others saw the wonder of these beings traversing space, S.H.I.E.L.D. recognized the threat—at this moment, they still didn't know whether Asgard was friend or foe. Judging by the situation in Old Bridge Town, those who could come and go freely clearly posed a significant danger. The fact that they could arrive on Earth and leave at will, without Earth even knowing who they were or where they came from in the cosmos, placed the planet in a precarious position. From a strategic standpoint, regardless of whether Asgard was good or bad, this was unacceptable.
Thus, it was this incident involving Thor that solidified Nick's resolve to expedite the formation of the Avengers.
