Chapter 127: Mana
The shattered aircraft hovered in mid-air.
Metal fragments, wreckage, and parts that had broken off were suspended by an invisible yet powerful force, creating a scene as if someone had pressed the pause button in space. In an instant, everything was frozen in the air.
Amidst this stillness, a figure enveloped in Aurora slowly ascended.
It was Lorna. Her dark green hair danced wildly in the absence of wind, and her already pale skin appeared even more ghostly at that moment, adding to her breathtaking beauty. Yet her eyes held no trace of weakness; they were filled with fierce determination.
It was she who intervened at the critical moment, halting the disintegrating aircraft in mid-air.
However, her power was clearly not as formidable as that of her father, Magneto Erik. The prolonged battle, combined with the effort to suspend the aircraft, began to show signs of strain.
Bai Luo stood amidst the remnants of the aircraft. From his position, he could even see Bruce Banner on the opposite half of the wreckage, still sound asleep and oblivious to everything around him. His face bore bruises and marks from the impact, yet he looked peaceful, as if lost in a beautiful dream.
Meanwhile, Lorna was gradually lowering their altitude, attempting to use her abilities to ensure a smooth landing.
Bai Luo's first thought was about potential interference from the Reincarnators. He prepared himself for any possible attacks they might launch against them.
But it was evident that Bai Luo was overthinking this time.
At that moment, the Buddha Light Team had gained a comprehensive advantage. This team of Reincarnators from Thailand and India had successfully subdued their opponents.
It turned out that the support from S.H.I.E.L.D. was significantly stronger than Loki's.
The Ability User known as Shining Fruit fell from the sky but was caught by Loki. He pointed his staff, embedded with a Soul Gem, at the forehead of the Reincarnator, helping him recover from a state akin to possession. However, it was clear that he had suffered severe injuries—not from external wounds but purely on a mental and spiritual level. During his fall, Mana had continuously exerted her abilities on him.
But in front of the Mind Stone, Mana's abilities clearly fell short. This might be due to the level of power she possessed; if she had a stronger ability, perhaps she could have ignored the immense power of the Mind Stone and directly cursed this Shimmering Reincarnator to death with a soul-like curse.
However, that was not possible now.
Nevertheless, Mana's attack was not without its benefits. At least from the perspective of the Shining Fruit Reincarnator, he was now in a state where he would find it difficult to fight back or even defend himself.
Taking advantage of this moment, Steve and Tony had already begun to flank from two directions.
With Mana's attack rendered ineffective, these two could proceed as long as they remained cautious of the Mind Stone, which would be enough to take down Loki and this temporarily incapacitated Reincarnator.
But just at that moment, a bolt of lightning descended. A man in armor, with a flowing red cape and golden hair, fell from the sky like a flash and crashed down between Steve, Tony, and Loki, creating a large crater in the ground and forcing both Steve and Tony back.
And who was this person? Surely everyone knew.
The newcomer was Thor.
Loki had caused such a commotion on Earth while wielding the Cosmic Cube and the Mind Stone; it was impossible for Asgard not to notice. Odin, being old, had sent Thor to resolve the troubles that Asgard had brought to Earth.
Thor landed, holding his square hammer and looking around. He lingered particularly long on the massive Dog-headed Man, Tiger Lee, before addressing Loki: "Is this one of your people?"
Loki's eyes darted around as he pointed at the Dog-headed Man and then at the floating Mana. "Brother, you arrived too late. These are all my people; these foolish and lowly Earthlings have already fallen into despair."
Tony interjected, "You're his brother?"
Iron Man did not bother explaining Loki's words; his tone towards Thor was unfriendly, clearly annoyed by what just happened. Of course, he held no good impressions of Tiger Lee or Mana either.
Fortunately, there was Captain America present. Steve keenly sensed that although Loki referred to this suddenly appearing man as his brother, their tone suggested otherwise. To avoid misunderstandings and to rally as many allies as possible, he explained: "Sir, no matter who you are, do not be deceived by what this person says. The lady floating in the air and this... um... Dog-headed Man are both our allies. The one truly surrounded and in despair is this Loki before you."
Upon having his lie exposed by Captain America, Loki merely smiled without showing any signs of panic. However, his eyes darted around; it was clear he realized his current situation was precarious and was searching for a way to retreat.
At that moment, Tiger Lee and Mana were clearly not focused on the characters in the storyline.
The Dog-headed Man, Tiger Lee, wielded a massive Battle Axe as he searched the battlefield, which had long turned into ruins, for the recently vanished Terminator.
Mana, after confirming that she could not launch an attack on the Shimmering Reincarnator and Loki protected by the Mind Stone, abandoned those two targets. Instead, she began looking for the previous -1000 Bloodline Reincarnator. Compared to the Shining Fruit Reincarnator, this Reincarnator was weaker, and she was confident she could kill their soul within two minutes, rendering the body made of Liquid Metal useless.
However, upon searching, that Reincarnator was nowhere to be found!
Mana's abilities were indeed soul-related; she could even be likened to a radar. Their team rarely communicated openly in front of others. This was not due to a lack of communication but rather because they exchanged information silently within the mental network she maintained.
Logically speaking, as long as that Liquid Metal Reincarnator was still in the area, there should have been no reason for her not to locate them.
She immediately relayed this information to Vikas, who instructed them both to search together.
