Chapter 136: The Frustration of Loki
Loki's lips curled into a playful smile, clearly having listened for quite some time before choosing to make his entrance at this moment, shattering any pretense about his relationship with Bai Luo.
Bai Luo glanced at Sato Ryuseki and stood up to face Loki. "Long time no see, Son of Odin."
"You know each other?"
Loki seemed surprised that Sato Ryuseki was aware of his connection to Bai Luo, so he also stood up, taken aback by their exchange.
"Yes, we do know each other," Loki replied with a cold smirk. He slowly raised the staff in his hand, and the Mind Stone embedded at its tip began to glow visibly. "Sato, I don't think we need to waste any more words with this guy. Let's just take him down and be done with it."
Before the still somewhat dazed Sato Ryuseki could respond, Bai Luo interjected with a smile, "Wait a minute, did you forget something before you make your move?"
"What could I possibly forget?" Loki asked.
As he spoke, he had already raised his hand, the tip of his staff glowing with the power of the Mind Stone.
At the same moment, Bai Luo stood up as well and declared, "I want you to honor our 'agreement' and hand over the Soul Gem in your possession."
Bai Luo spoke these words in Chinese.
Behind Bai Luo, Sato Ryuseki showed a curious expression. In this universe where everyone seemed to speak English, Lorna and Loki obviously couldn't understand Bai Luo's Chinese. However, as a Reincarnator, Sato Ryuseki had exchanged for language proficiency; while he might not understand everything, he could comprehend most known languages on Earth. This was part of what Reincarnators referred to as "the plot characters don't need to understand what I'm saying; I just need to understand them."
Thus, he understood Bai Luo's statement and couldn't help but feel curious—what was this Chinese individual trying to achieve by making such a bold declaration at this moment?
Unlike Sato Ryuseki, Lorna and Loki were unable to comprehend Bai Luo's words. Loki merely smirked at Bai Luo's lack of defense. He assumed that Bai Luo was being overly confident, thinking he could use the two spiritual forms within him to withstand Loki's attack. However, Loki found this notion utterly naive; he was wielding the Mind Stone now—not something just anyone could counter.
Loki remembered their previous agreement and acknowledged that while Bai Luo seemed to have used some strange trick on him, he had thoroughly checked with Chitauri's advanced technology and found nothing amiss—meaning Bai Luo was likely bluffing.
Therefore, Loki didn't take the matter too seriously. Perhaps due to lingering concerns about what Bai Luo had done to him earlier, he chose this direct approach of attacking upon first sight.
Lorna grew anxious. She raised her hands, and a dark green aura materialized around her. In an instant, the metallic objects in the room began to tremble as if summoned by some unseen force, ready to assist Bai Luo.

Both of them had clearly misjudged the situation.
The glow emanating from Loki's Mind Stone gradually dimmed. Under Lorna's watchful gaze, Loki's expression twisted unnaturally. He tightened his grip on the scepter and slowly descended from the apartment staircase, approaching Bai Luo. He extended the scepter toward Bai Luo with both hands.
It seemed that Loki intended to hand over the scepter willingly.
Lorna couldn't help but warn, "There's treachery afoot."
With a flick of her wrist, a metal fork shot through the air, stopping just beside Loki's neck.
Behind Bai Luo, Sato Ryuseki observed this bizarre scene but surprisingly made no move. He glanced between Loki and Bai Luo, a thoughtful expression crossing his face.
From his demeanor, it appeared he had no intention of intervening.
As for Bai Luo... well, he wore a rather mischievous smile, gazing at Loki as if he were looking at a cute little treasure. He reached out to take the scepter embedded with the Mind Stone from Loki's hands. "Good boy."

Loki's grip was surprisingly strong. He clutched the scepter tightly, seemingly resisting some invisible force.
Clearly, his actions contradicted his true intentions; deep down, he did not want to relinquish the Mind Stone so easily. Even now, Loki's body trembled slightly as if battling against the power compelling him to surrender the scepter.
However, these struggles were evidently futile. With a slight exertion, Bai Luo effortlessly took hold of the scepter and swiftly stored it along with the Mind Stone into his Storage Talisman.
Bai Luo smiled broadly. There was a reason he wanted the Mind Stone instead of the Cosmic Cube.
Everyone was eyeing the Cosmic Cube; even if he obtained it, he would have to turn it over to S.H.I.E.L.D. But the Mind Stone in Loki's possession was unrecorded by Nick Fury. Once in his grasp, it would be his for good.
Unlike the cheerful mood of Bai Luo, Loki stumbled back several steps, displaying the classic expression of a villain facing defeat. "This, this, this is impossible! No, no! This can't be happening, I clearly..."
Lorna was somewhat confused. She didn't fully grasp the details of what was happening between Bai Luo and Loki, but she remembered their mission. Since Loki seemed struck by lightning and Bai Luo appeared to be in a frenzy, she turned to Loki and said, "Loki. Hand over the Cosmic Cube!"
At that moment, Sato Ryuseki, who had been observing, slowly stood up and said, "You want the Cosmic Cube?"
As Sato Ryuseki spoke, Loki, who looked as if he had been hit hard, suddenly seemed to remember something. He exclaimed, "Sato, hurry, subdue them! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; we can capture these two annoying pests all at once."

Tonight seemed destined to be a night of disappointment for Loki.
It was as if Sato Ryuseki hadn't heard Loki's words at all. He simply adjusted his glasses and slowly addressed Bai Luo, saying, "I can hand the Cosmic Cube over to you."
