Chapter 152: The Yellow Sparrow Lurks Behind
Loki's target was indeed the Cosmic Cube.
The Prince of Mischief from Asgard traversed the massive imprints left by the chaos in Water City, arriving at the edge of what was once a summoning circle.
At this moment, the intricate array painstakingly constructed by the Hatsune Victory Team to summon Hatsune Miku had been utterly destroyed. The Rulai Divine Palm had achieved a plowing effect, erasing all traces of the formation from the ground.
However, the Cosmic Cube, one of the Six Infinity Stones in the Marvel Universe and specifically the Space Gem, could not be easily obliterated by the Rulai Divine Palm; it had merely been buried deep underground.
Yet, being an object that emitted light, Loki effortlessly unearthed it from the soil.
As he gazed at the Cosmic Cube, a hint of a smile finally appeared on Loki's otherwise disheveled face.
Perhaps, in his eyes, this was his capital for a comeback.
But Loki was also quite cautious; he understood that experience teaches wisdom. After obtaining the Cosmic Cube, he immediately lifted his head to look around, checking for any signs of trouble or anyone who might come to snatch his prize.
His vigilance proved to be well-founded.
When he raised his head, the first thing he saw was Bai Luo trailing behind him.
Bai Luo hadn’t made any effort to conceal himself; the ground in this area had been flattened by Vikas's Rulai Divine Palm. Even if he wanted to hide, there was no way to do so effectively. Thus, he charged forward with a frying pan in hand, heading straight for Loki.
Consequently, when Loki turned around alertly, he was met with the sight of an Easterner sprinting towards him with a dark frying pan raised high. The movement, expression, and demeanor were no different from someone gearing up for a brawl.
In that brief moment when Loki turned back, both of them paused slightly in surprise. But then Bai Luo continued charging at Loki without hesitation; his intent was clear—he aimed to knock him down with that frying pan.
Loki stared blankly at Bai Luo for a while before decisively turning on his heel and fleeing.
He wasn't afraid of the frying pan in Bai Luo's hand; rather, he had fought against Bai Luo before and knew very well that if he were to engage in a brawl with this "messy" Easterners, he wouldn't stand a chance. Therefore, instead of waiting for the other party to catch up and confront him head-on, it was better to make a quick escape.
Loki's thoughts were quite clear, and his decision to run was decisive. However, he hadn't gotten far when a sharp whistle echoed through the area.
Upon hearing the sound, Bai Luo came to a halt.
Because what was approaching was a massive hammer.
It was none other than Mjolnir.
At this point, Thor could no longer sit idly by and finally took action.
Thus, there was no need for Bai Luo to intervene; as Loki was running frantically, he was struck down to the ground by a single blow from the hammer.
Thor's figure followed closely behind, crashing down from the sky like a cannonball, landing firmly beside the Loki he had just knocked over. He even nodded toward Bai Luo in a friendly manner, indicating that their previous encounter—where Bai Luo had kidnapped him and delivered that long-winded speech—had indeed made a positive impression.
However, Bai Luo chose not to move forward any longer.
He understood clearly that since Thor had come down, unless it was a direct confrontation, the Cosmic Cube would no longer have anything to do with him.
For Bai Luo, there was no real regret in this; after all, acquiring the Infinity Stone would be a bonus, and not getting it wasn't something to lament since he didn't possess the Infinity Gauntlet anyway.
However, those two Reincarnators were something Bai Luo absolutely needed.
At that moment, Bai Luo nodded at Thor before turning around and heading toward the location of Vikas as he remembered it.
He believed that finding either Vikas or Sato Ryuseki would lead him to both of them.
As the team battle had reached this critical stage, it was now a matter of life or death. Both Vikas and Sato Ryuseki were acutely aware that if they did not eliminate each other quickly, the arrival of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents would complicate matters even further.
Sato Ryuseki was slammed into the ground by Rulai Divine Palm, and it was likely that Vikas could not pinpoint the exact location of the Hatsune Victory Team's captain at that moment. However, Vikas's descent from the sky was visible to everyone, making Bai Luo head straight for where Vikas had fallen, with a clear target in mind.
Vikas did not land in the area cleared by Rulai Divine Palm but instead fell into the more distant Water City Ruins. Bai Luo's assumption was correct; upon arriving there, he did not see Vikas but instead spotted Sato Ryuseki.
At that moment, the situation seemed to have reversed once again.
Sato Ryuseki, armed with a firearm, was searching through the ruins for any sign of Vikas.
He appeared to be in decent shape; at least he bore no significant injuries or visible disabilities. He had reverted from his state as Hatsune Miku back to his original appearance. However, for some reason, Bai Luo felt that this guy's skin was even fairer than Zhiqiang's, despite being covered in dirt and looking quite disheveled. Yet, he still exuded a certain "feminine" quality.
Honestly, Bai Luo had felt an urge to hit him when he saw him merge with Hatsune Miku earlier, and now, seeing Sato Ryuseki in this form only intensified that impulse.
Sato Ryuseki seemed oblivious to Bai Luo's presence as he wandered through the ruins with a stylishly designed large submachine gun. He appeared utterly confident that he had gained an absolute upper hand in this team battle and shouted without restraint: "Vikas! Where are you? Weren't you just so cool? Why are you hiding like a turtle now? Did one Rulai Divine Palm make you lose your nerve? Come out and face me! You know this is a team battle; one of us or our Reincarnator teams will inevitably face annihilation."
Despite his taunts, Vikas remained silent. The ruins were eerily quiet; it seemed that after the recent Rulai Divine Palm attack, Vikas was indeed in a dire state. Otherwise, he would have come out to take down Sato Ryuseki directly.
