Chapter 155: The Finale
Sato Ryuseki made a choice; in an instant, he decided to take action.
He struck with a flash of green light.
However, this attack was not aimed at Bai Luo, but rather at Vikas behind him.
Yet Bai Luo was well-prepared. In the first moment, he pulled out a Tortoise Shell Talisman, which firmly blocked Sato Ryuseki's strike. In the blink of an eye, he darted forward like lightning and appeared right beside Sato Ryuseki. Without hesitation, his sole purpose was clear—he intended to stick talismans.
Without saying a word, he slapped three identical Talismans onto Sato Ryuseki and turned to retreat.
Sato Ryuseki was momentarily stunned.
He watched as Bai Luo suddenly appeared next to him and then swiftly withdrew. For a moment, he was taken aback, but then he looked down at the Ghostly Symbols now affixed to him, and his expression changed slightly.
Sato Ryuseki was no stranger to Talismans as a native of the Marvel Universe; he quickly realized what Bai Luo had just placed on him.
But before he could reach out to tear off the three identical Talismans, he heard Bai Luo's voice from a distance: "Since you've merged with Hatsune Miku... Fusion Period—you haven't faced your tribulation yet."
Before Sato Ryuseki could grasp the deeper meaning behind Bai Luo's words, a loud crash echoed through the air.
He lifted his head to see dark clouds gathering overhead, with flashes of lightning beginning to flicker.
Then, like wild serpents, bolts of thunder descended from the sky, crashing directly towards Sato Ryuseki.
The Talismans that Bai Luo had placed on him were indeed Teleportation Thunder Talismans worth fifteen hundred points each—nothing more than a way to hang three bolts of lightning on him. Each Teleportation Thunder Talisman could summon three bolts of lightning; with three of them, that amounted to nine strikes in total. It was not an exaggeration for Bai Luo to consider this as facing tribulation.
As the Teleportation Thunder Talismans activated, the entire sky began to change color. The already chaotic Water City transformed dramatically in that moment; one bolt of lightning followed another, and Sato Ryuseki found himself at the center of this storm.
Not far away, from another angle of Water City, Thor—who had just subdued Loki—couldn't help but look up in confusion at this direction. He wondered how there could be lightning when he hadn't even made a move.
To Bai Luo's surprise, his three Teleportation Thunder Talismans had succeeded in one fell swoop.
As the sixth and seventh bolts of lightning struck the ground, he received a notification from the almost imperceptible System: "Dear host, you have killed a B-Class Reincarnator and earned 500 Old White Rabbit Candy Points."
Bai Luo let out a slight breath. He turned to look at Vikas, who was still not far away.
Vikas was severely injured; it seemed both of his legs had lost their function. During the recent moments, he had been using his hands to support himself as he continuously retreated. Unfortunately, he had not managed to escape Bai Luo's line of sight.
Vikas opened his mouth, clearly wanting something, as he had just received the message of his team's victory in battle. This meant he would soon be teleported back to the Main God Space by the System, becoming the sole survivor of this team battle—one of the two Reincarnators' teams.
Thus, for Vikas now, all he needed was to buy a trivial amount of time.
But unfortunately for him, Bai Luo was well aware of this. He drew a gun from his waist and shot Vikas squarely in the forehead. The System's notification echoed once more in Bai Luo's mind.
"Dear host, you have killed a b+B-Class Reincarnator and earned 0000 Old White Rabbit Candy Points."
A gaping wound appeared on Vikas's forehead as he fell backward, lifeless.
What surprised Bai Luo was that Vikas was not an a+B-Class Reincarnator but rather a b+B-Class Reincarnator. Although it was still worth three thousand points, if even someone like Vikas wasn't classified as an a-grade, how strong could a true a+B-Class Reincarnator be?
Bai Luo took a deep breath. After this Reincarnator team battle, his points surged to over thirty-five thousand. In fact, he had originally expected to earn about forty thousand points, but those three Teleportation Thunder Talismans were worth four thousand five hundred points—definitely not cheap.
Yet for Bai Luo, this was still a significant sum.
With the complete deaths of Vikas and Sato Ryuseki and Loki being captured, Water City fell eerily silent. A beam of genuine light pierced through the thick clouds above the recently struck area, casting its glow over the devastated Water City.
This city was in worse shape than New York during the Avengers saga; in S.H.I.E.L.D., the Battle of New York only destroyed half the city. This time, however, Water City faced total devastation—most residents were gone, and nearly all buildings and facilities suffered catastrophic damage. For Japan, this was undoubtedly a tremendous loss.
At that moment, a beam of light shone down upon Bai Luo.
He squinted up at the sky and saw an aircraft hovering steadily above—it was S.H.I.E.L.D.'s vehicle, the one carrying Lorna and Banner.
Bai Luo only then realized that in this great battle, the Avengers seemed to have become mere bystanders.
If Nick Fury knew that Bai Luo had killed all the Reincarnators he wanted to capture, he would probably be furious.
Watching the slowly descending aircraft and thinking about these chaotic matters, he couldn't help but shake his head and chuckle.
Of course, that was all a matter for another time. The battle ultimately ended in calm. As for Nick Fury, he was indeed somewhat dissatisfied with Bai Luo's unilateral decision to eliminate Vikas and Sato Ryuseki, but it wasn't a major issue. The Avengers quickly returned to their respective homes. Tony went back to New York, and it was evident that this battle had impacted him significantly. Although the Chitauri army did not come this time, the strength of the Reincarnators was undoubtedly greater and more unpredictable, creating an even larger invisible threat.
As for Loki… his fate was much like in the movies; he was directly taken back to Asgard by Thor, who also took the Cosmic Cube with him. Nick felt a bit reluctant, but it was a decision made collectively by everyone.
Banner stayed at S.H.I.E.L.D., assisting with some simple research work. Captain America, following the lead provided by Bai Luo regarding Lorna's kidnapping, began investigating Hydra alongside Hawkeye and Black Widow.
Everything seemed to settle into a complete tranquility.
