He did not deny it. Those elders had invited him, and it was Master who specifically sent him. He mentioned that he had encountered Keke, someone who could lead the era forward, much like Yin Tianheng. However, he did not wish for that person to follow the same path as Yin Tianheng. Tenglan, known as Zhongshang, looked at Gu Ping, his eyes filled with a fiery passion that contrasted sharply with the temperature around him. It had been a long time since he had met someone who could excite him like this. At that moment, Tenglan was brimming with a desire for battle.
They were different.
Gu Ping gave Tenglan a very affirmative answer, one he had not received before meeting Yin Tianheng. He understood that Yin Tianheng's successor was destined to face the same fate as Yin Tianheng himself. He knew the outcome of Yin Tianheng's journey and could see clearly what the Elders were thinking. Even though Gu Ping's rise was unstoppable, there remained a hidden danger for Gu Ping's future—Dongyi could soon see Coco turn Gu Ping into another Yin Tianheng.
Those who feared Gu Ping and feared Yin Tianheng made their choices based on their powerful abilities, viewing both Gu Ping and Yin Tianheng as anomalies. They would not allow someone like that—someone who could not be surpassed—to exist in their world.
After meeting Yin Tianheng, Bu Luo Gu Ping realized that his master had been wrong about many things. He had made mistakes; he did not deny it. He had killed for him and provoked a world governed by long-standing conventions that were never explicitly stated but were widely followed by cultivators.
The unspoken rules concealed the distribution of resources among cultivators over millennia. Gu Ping, still with unformed wings, could easily shake those rules; even a genius like Yin Tianheng had fallen victim to them, illustrating how deeply rooted these conventions were in the hearts of cultivators.

The current Yin Tianheng was no longer the same as the one from before; his body was alive, but his spirit and beliefs had long since dissipated in that world. Heaven did not favor Yin Tianheng, yet humanity sought to extinguish his heart.
Gu Ping did not intend to inform Ren He about the fact that Yin Tianheng was still alive. That information would be enough to change the landscape of the World of Mortals dramatically; however, such news would instill fear throughout the entire World of Mortals. Those who had once faced or understood Yin Tianheng would carry an indelible shadow in their hearts. For those who had driven Yin Tianheng away, each day he lived was like a noose around their necks, threatening their lives at any moment.
What I said was wrong.
As Tenglan spoke, shards of ice began to coalesce in the air around him, gradually forming floating Ice Blades before him.
Gu Ping stared solemnly at Tenglan, known as Zhongshang. The numerous Ice Blades before him reminded him of the records he had read in the Outer Court about the technique employed by Tenglan, known as Zhongshang. It was likely a sword formation called the Cold Ice Great Array. Clearly, a formation that took such a long time to condense would possess immense power. However, Gu Ping had never learned how to break formations or how to condense them. All along, he had relied on the combat experience he accumulated in the Flowing Cloud Realm, but now that experience offered him no assistance.
He could learn anew through battle and accumulate experience once more, but would Tenglan, known as Zhongshang, grant Gu Ping that opportunity? Tenglan, known as Zhongshang, was a beast that relied on its robust physique and brute strength. Could a cultivator who had experienced numerous battles, a genius who stood out in combat, not see through Gu Ping's weaknesses?
The answer was clearly no.
The overwhelming Ice Blades surrounded Gu Ping completely. He swiftly maneuvered his body among the blades, but suddenly realized there was no way to evade them any longer. He began to discern the patterns of the sword formation.
In the midst of dodging, Gu Ping felt he had found the key; those trajectories were crucial to breaking the formation. If he could accurately understand the path of each blade, he could uncover the secrets of the Cold Ice Great Array.
Gu Ping slowed down his speed. Instead of relying solely on his swiftness to escape the Ice Blades, he used his agility to dodge them. To an outsider, it appeared as though Gu Ping was dancing on air; one misstep could result in him being pierced like a honeycomb. Yet Gu Ping's evasions became increasingly fluid and instinctive.
Quietly, Gu Ping prepared for his counterattack.
