Feng Laowu was in high spirits today. Looking at the main wedding car, he said with a smile, "Hu Lao, Brother Xiao, your godson is marrying the most beautiful woman in Southwest Province. Come on, let's go take a look."
Feng Laowu led Hu Sanxiong and Xiao Junyong to the main wedding car and called out loudly, "Dong'er, get out of the car."
As the door opened under everyone's gaze, it was not Feng Dong who emerged, nor Liu Pingping, but Liu Xifang who stepped out first, holding a vase.
Seeing Liu Xifang come down from the main wedding car, the onlookers were all stunned.
"Manager Liu, why were you sitting in the main wedding car? Where's my son?" Feng Laowu's face darkened immediately. This in-law was acting completely out of line by sitting in the main wedding car. That should have been reserved for the groom—his own son.
At that moment, Liu Xifang felt like she was sitting on pins and needles but had no choice but to grit her teeth and hand over the vase to Feng Laowu.
"What is this?" Feng Laowu's expression grew even darker.
"Feng Laowu, didn't you want your son?" Liu Xifang said softly, her voice trembling slightly.
"I asked where my son is! Why are you giving me a vase?" Feng Laowu shouted angrily. Today was supposed to be a joyous occasion; he didn't want to lose his temper, but it seemed Liu Xifang was playing tricks on him.
"Y-your son is inside," Liu Xifang said cautiously.
What? Feng Dong is in the vase? As soon as those words left her mouth, everyone present turned their gaze towards the vase in Feng Laowu's hands, completely bewildered by what Liu Xifang meant. After all, no one would expect that Feng Dong had been killed while going to fetch a bride.
"Manager Liu, do you think this joke is funny? Do you think this vase is some kind of treasure? How ridiculous," Feng Laowu scoffed with an unhappy expression and then directly threw the vase away.
With a loud crash, the vase shattered on the cement ground, scattering Feng Dong's ashes everywhere.
Seeing that Feng Laowu had actually thrown the vase away, Liu Xifang was horrified and wanted to stop him, but it was too late; the vase lay shattered all over the ground.
"Someone! Clean up this mess!" Feng Laowu shouted. Immediately, servants rushed over with dustpans to clean up.
"Feng Laowu, what’s inside really is your son," Liu Xifang was on the verge of tears.
"Manager Liu, haven't you had enough fun yet? Dong'er, hurry up and get out of the car," Feng Laowu said confidently. Although he saw the white ashes in the vase, he could not possibly connect them to his son's remains; that was unimaginable. He still thought that his son and Liu Xifang were just playing a prank.
