After they had eaten and drunk their fill, the two sat comfortably on the grass, basking in the sun. Anyuan looked at Muen's wounds, which had yet to heal, and couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy as he gently touched them, asking softly, "Does it hurt?"
Muen seemed to be jolted by electricity, springing up suddenly and vanishing into the woods like a flash of lightning, leaving Anyuan standing there in bewilderment, wondering: Did I hurt him?
The black figure raced through the forest, as if only by running could he suppress the surging waves of excitement within him.
Muen plunged into the stream, startling the Giant Rabbit and the goat that were drinking water; they scattered in panic.
After tumbling several times in the water, Muen gradually calmed down, secretly delighted: Little Female finally ate something. She even smiled at me and worried about my wounds; she must really love me.
From that day on, Muen no longer hid away but boldly sought out Anyuan.
Though their languages were not entirely compatible, Anyuan guessed that the black panther was called Muen based on some of his reactions and behaviors that formed a sort of "shadow."
With his company, Anyuan gradually gained the courage to explore the woods. After all, having such a brave and fearless "bodyguard" by his side made him feel more secure.
Although the black panther appeared fierce, Anyuan discovered that this "little guy" was actually quite gentle and adorable when they spent time together.
However, while Anyuan regarded the black panther as a close companion, Muen's thoughts were entirely different.
At night, when the little Female wouldn't let him get close, it troubled Muen greatly. He pondered to himself: We've known each other for over a month now. Back in the tribe, those males courting would only take about ten days at most.
Oh, how frustrating! When will I be able to have Cubs with little Female?
On that day, a person and a beast were weaving through the dense forest.
Anyuan had only taken a moment to pick a fruit when he was bitten by a venomous insect.
A sharp pain shot through his arm, followed by slight swelling.
Muen, witnessing this, was filled with guilt and panic. His four paws paced back and forth anxiously, and he whined repeatedly, as if saying, "What should we do?"
Seeing this, Anyuan forced himself to remain calm and smiled to reassure him, "I'm fine, Muen. It's just a little bug; there's nothing to fear."
At that moment, he was completely unaware of the insect's potency. He casually pulled out the stinger from his arm and picked up the fruit on the ground, intending to head back.
Muen hurriedly blocked his path, signaling for him to ride on his back. Anyuan gently patted his head and said, "It's okay; I can walk by myself."
He never regarded Muen as a pet but rather as a friend and close companion.
Muen was anxious and frustrated, thinking to himself: Why is he so stubborn? You're not from around here; you must be unaware of the dangers!
Sure enough, when Anyuan forced himself to reach the cave entrance, the poison took effect, causing him to lose consciousness and collapse.
Muen reacted quickly, using his body as a cushion for Anyuan; otherwise, he might have hit his face on the ground.
Muen swiftly transformed into human form and carefully laid Anyuan on the grass mat, covering him with a tiger skin blanket. Then he turned into a shadow and darted away like an arrow released from a bow.
He relied on his memory to search for antidote herbs in the jungle, and after much effort, he finally found the right ones and hurried back like lightning.
Upon returning to the cave, he took out a portion of the herbs, carefully chewed them into a paste, and applied it to Anyuan's wound. He then chewed the remaining herbs and fed them into his own mouth.
After completing all of this, Muen transformed into human form and quietly stood guard nearby.
