Their gazes met. His eyes locked onto the figure outside the town. It was a silhouette draped in a tattered brown cloak made of an unknown Anomalous Entity hide. The eyes beneath the hood were clear and profound, entirely devoid of the emptiness and lifelessness typical of Anomalous Entities. They resembled human eyes more than anything else.
Yous was taken aback. But what shocked him even more were the words that followed from the cloaked figure. "Finally, Cthulhu Town has arrived." The voice carried a chill mixed with a hint of excitement. Although he couldn't understand the language, Yous could tell this was neither the whisper of Cthulhu nor the roar of an Anomalous Entity. This was unmistakably human speech.
A speaking Anomalous Entity?! Yous felt a surge of dread. At that moment, he concluded that the cloaked figure's Sequence level was astronomically high and identified them as a "god" Anomalous Entity.
But in the next second, as the figure spoke, a hand emerged from beneath the cloak, and then they removed the hood, revealing their face. A handsome visage—exactly like that of a human. At that moment...
Not only Yous noticed the cloaked figure, but Merry and the others also took notice. The humanoid appearance and the ability to speak human language made it hard not to attract attention.
"Captain, that doesn't look like an Anomalous Entity; it's a person," one of them said.
He was speaking Daxia Language.
"Are you kidding me? That's a person?" Yous stared incredulously at his companions and Merry.
"Captain, you know what my Sequence is. I can sense that the other party is human."
"I know some Daxia Language, and he is indeed speaking Daxia Language."
At the same time as his companions were explaining to Merry, the cloaked figure spoke again.
"Friends up ahead, don't be afraid. I am a person, not an Anomalous Entity. Oh, I forgot; you are foreigners."
He waved at Yous and then realized that their faces were not those of Daxia People, but clearly European or American. He quickly repeated himself in English.
In an instant, it was not just Merry who understood; Yous and the others comprehended as well.
"I am truly a person, not an Anomalous Entity. My name is Yelai."
Yelai did not approach Yous and his group, deliberately keeping his distance. On one hand, he feared they might think he was an Anomalous Entity, and on the other hand, it was their first meeting, so he couldn't guarantee they were friendly.
Despite not getting closer, a joyful smile adorned Yelai's face.
It had been three years. Finally, he saw another human again. Regardless of whether they were good or bad people, just being human made him feel a sense of familiarity after dealing with Anomalous Entities for so long.
While Yelai was filled with joy, Yous and his group were in shock. The realization that the cloaked figure might be a person left them utterly astonished.

He instinctively glanced at Yelai's dirty clothes and unkempt hair. To be honest, she looked nothing like someone who had been out for a day or half a day; she resembled more of a wild person who had spent years in the wilderness.
Seeing this, an inexplicable thought crossed Yous's mind. Could it be that this person had been outside Cthulhu Town for several days?
