He didn't ask much about Altar Security; his earlier indifference was not welcomed by them. Instead of questioning them, it was better to go directly to the source. Yelai called for a car and headed to the address provided by Altar Security for Zhang Yinlin.
Not long after he left, a rough voice echoed in the quiet area of the Transmission Altar. "Where is Yelai?" A towering figure approached from a distance.
The man had a fierce, brutish face, a bald head, and numerous scars that made him look like a thug or even a murderer at first glance. The Bald Man was accompanied by three or four others.
"Captain Zhong," Altar Security hurriedly greeted him.
"Where's Yelai?" the Bald Man scanned the surroundings. "I heard that guy named Yelai really came back to life?"
"Captain Zhong, Yelai has indeed resurrected, but he isn't here right now; he went to find former Vice Captain Zhang Yinlin."
"Zhang Yinlin?" The Bald Man frowned slightly. "I see. If you see Yelai again, notify me immediately." His gaze fixed on the Transmission Altar, his eyes as wide as copper bells.
"Yes, Captain Zhong." Altar Security was momentarily stunned and instinctively asked, "Do you know Yelai too?"
Captain Zhong had taken over as the leader of Safe Zone only after Yelai's death. Logically speaking, he shouldn't know Yelai.
"Oh, how could I possibly know Yelai?" Captain Zhong's brutish face broke into what he thought was a friendly smile, but with his fierce features, it only made him look more intimidating. "It's because of Captain Luo; I've heard about Captain Luo's reputation."
"After I arrived at Safe Zone, I heard plenty about him too. Now that Yelai has come back to life, I wonder what kind of person could catch Captain Luo's attention."
So that's how it is. There's really no need to look into it; Yelai is just like the rumors say, he really is a useless key. If Captain Zhong wants to find Yelai, he can go to Captain Zhang Yinlin, that's where Yelai is.
No need for that. I was just passing by and heard about it, so I came to take a look. I have things to attend to, so I won't keep you. You all carry on.
On the way to Zhang Yinlin's residence, Yelai sat in the car. He gazed out at the rapidly passing skyscrapers. Compared to three years ago, the Safe Zone had changed dramatically; the remnants of the apocalypse had been repaired, and tall buildings were rising once again.
Looking at the surrounding prosperity, it was hard to imagine this was once an apocalyptic wasteland, even harder to believe it was a city surrounded by layers of iron walls.
Yelai had no interest in appreciating the scenery. His focus was entirely on Luo Zhenxue leaving the Safe Zone. Why did she leave him with the Sequence Coordinate Stone of the Safe Zone, instead of one from the Numbered Protection Zone, where she currently was?
Since she left him with a coordinate stone, it must mean she still held hope for his revival, hoping that one day he could find her. But why not from the Numbered Protection Zone, when she was clearly there now?
Based on what he knew about Luo Zhenxue, Yelai thought of the only possibility: Did Zhenxue not want him to go to the Numbered Protection Zone?
