At that moment, in Hu Family Village, down a narrow alleyway.
It was getting closer!
The Squad Captain listened to the sounds behind him, sweat beading on his forehead. In a frenzy, he activated his Sequence Power, erecting walls of water in an attempt to block the approaching Gaze.
He dared not look back, fearing that a glance would meet the Gaze's eyes. Instead, he relied solely on his hearing to gauge the situation behind him.
Behind him, the Gaze maneuvered through the narrow alley with agility.
The Squad Captain's water walls obstructed its path, but it simply dug its fingers into the wall and climbed over, undeterred by the barriers.
Don't look back!
Uncle Zhou urged the Squad Captain not to turn around.
The sounds from behind grew increasingly closer, tempting him to take a quick glance.

The Squad Captain fought against the urge to turn around and continued to conjure water walls for defense, simultaneously protecting Uncle Zhou from being caught by the Gaze.
