The people outside were just there to watch the commotion; they wanted to see if you had left the Safe Zone. After recounting the events, Uncle Zhou scratched his head, feeling both amused and exasperated.
After all, that kid Xiao Jun had recorded a video that had spread widely, drawing many skeptics who wanted to see for themselves. That little rascal Xiao Jun, I'll deal with him tomorrow when I pick him up from kindergarten.
Zhang Yinlin held her forehead and shook her head in resignation. Yelai waved his hand dismissively.
"Ha, Yinlin, don’t worry about it. If it’s out there, it’s out there. It doesn’t matter. My identity as a Sequencer will be known sooner or later; it’s just a matter of time." He didn’t mind that his identity as a Sequencer had been exposed.
After all, everyone already knew that those who posed a threat to him were the Li Family from the Numbered Protection Zone, and they had even captured Zhong Zhi. Whether or not he concealed his identity as a Sequencer was no longer relevant.
At most, when he went out next, he would probably be surrounded by quite a few onlookers, but other than that, it wouldn’t affect him much. Compared to his identity as a Sequencer being revealed, Yelai was more concerned about when they would interrogate Zhong Zhi.
Once he thought of it, he acted on it. Yelai asked Uncle Zhou, "Uncle Zhou, when can we interrogate Zhong Zhi? I have some things I need to ask him."
"It should be soon," Uncle Zhou replied. "Once Captain Wang and the others arrive, I’ll discuss the situation with them and go through the necessary procedures."
In addition to Zhang Yinlin's faction and Zhong Zhi's faction within the Safe Zone, there was also a neutral faction. The destruction of the First and Second Squads had a significant impact on the Safe Zone, enough to shake its security factor. The Sequencers from the neutral faction valued the Safe Zone highly.
For both emotional and logical reasons, it was impossible not to connect this matter with them. "Just leave this to us," Uncle Zhou said. "Yelai, you should go ahead; you still have that matter to handle, right?"
Uncle Zhou’s gaze subtly indicated towards Gaze, who was closely following Yelai. It was like a loyal servant, remaining obedient throughout. Yelai did not refuse Uncle Zhou's good intentions.
Without Luo Zhenxue, he didn't want to deal with the trivial matters of the Sequencers. It was just as well; he could enjoy some relaxation and have time to continue taming Gaze.
Soon after, he briefly recorded some notes and walked out of the Safe Zone's Defense Team headquarters. Just as he stepped through the gate, he brushed past a team of Sequencers clad in Sequence Combat Uniforms.
"Yelai?"
The leading Sequencer stopped in his tracks, looking directly at Yelai.
Yelai passed by calmly. Despite being a major star, he felt surprisingly at ease amidst the crowd gathered at the entrance; he almost thought he had been mistaken for someone else.
"Captain Wang, is that you?"
Yelai recognized the leading Sequencer as Captain Wang, the head of the neutral faction within the Safe Zone and leader of the Fourth Squad. He had been around for a long time, having protected the Safe Zone alongside Luo Zhenxue three years ago.
"It's really you, Yelai."
Captain Wang approached, sizing Yelai up from head to toe.
"I heard you were resurrected. At first, I didn't believe it, but later Zhang Yinlin and the others confirmed it, and that's when I started to believe."
Whether three years ago or now, he hadn't paid much attention to Yelai. The only reason he remembered him was because he was Luo Zhenxue's boyfriend—nothing more than that. After all, a 'useless key' wasn't worth his concern.
However, things had changed. He had learned about Zhong Zhi's connection to Yelai and was furious about Zhong Zhi harming the children of the Safe Zone. He was also shocked by how Yelai had suppressed Zhong Zhi and the Second Squad.
The two exchanged pleasantries for a few moments.
Seeing that their conversation was winding down, Captain Wang couldn't help but ask, "I heard that you captured Zhong Zhi? And that you wiped out the Second Squad as well?"
He hesitated for a moment, his expression revealing skepticism.
"I also heard you encountered an Anomalous Entity ranked five; was that you who dealt with it?"
It was all just luck.
Yelai chuckled and laughed it off.
Captain Wang and the others felt a jolt in their hearts. Yelai's response was humble, yet it didn't deny the truth, which was a roundabout way of acknowledging the fact.
Captain Wang gazed deeply at Yelai and slowly spoke, "Dealing with a Rank Five Anomalous Entity cannot rely on luck."
The two continued to chat for a while longer. Yelai didn't linger for long, finding an excuse to part ways with Captain Wang.
"Come with me," Yelai instructed Gaze, who stood beside him.
As Captain Wang watched Yelai and Gaze leave, he remained silent, lost in thought.
"Captain, do you think Yelai is lying?" one of the team members asked.
"He doesn't seem like the type to lie," Captain Wang replied softly. "The video of Yelai's encounter with the Anomalous Entity appears genuine; we probably don't need to find anyone to authenticate it."
The team members had no doubts about Captain Wang's words.
