The Light Vortex formed. Yelai led Gaze and two other Huskies into it. As they stepped out of the swirling light, a brand new environment unfolded before their eyes. Unlike any other Safe Zone, this place had an architectural style that made Yelai feel as if he had entered a New Realm.
Though high-rise buildings dominated the skyline, the architectural styles varied greatly. Some resembled ancient Western designs, while others were reminiscent of Eastern antiquity. Many structures seemed to be made of unusual materials, not just ordinary concrete and steel; they appeared to incorporate other elements as well. This was evident in how the middle floors and rooftops floated apart, connected only by a transparent elevator shaft, showcasing the extraordinary nature of the buildings.
Clearly, compared to other Safe Zones, the Era of Sequence's leading Safe Zones kept pace with the times, their architecture infused with Sequence.
Curiosity bubbled within Yelai. Just as he stepped out of the Transmission Altar and began to observe the novel buildings in the distance, he was approached by two women.
"You're Yelai, right?" one of them asked.
"Who are you?" Yelai replied, looking at the approaching women.
"I'm Xianya, a member of Captain Luo's team. She mentioned her team members to you last night," Xianya said with a gentle smile as she extended her hand in greeting.
The other woman was lively and curious. "I'm Ye Zi! You can call me Leaf. Finally meeting you is amazing! You look even more handsome than in the photos!"
Their appearance immediately stirred excitement among those nearby. Many recognized the two women, and a number of females began to scream in excitement as if they were starstruck fans encountering a celebrity.
"It's Xianya and Ye Zi! Oh my god! Am I dreaming?"
"Who’s that guy?"
Amidst the excitement, onlookers noticed Xianya and Ye Zi chatting with Yelai, many women displaying curiosity and confusion.
"I know you both."
Ignoring the whispers and stares from those around him, Yelai focused his attention on the two people beside Xianya.
"Where's Zhenxue?"
"She was suddenly assigned a task," Luo Team replied. "Since it happened so unexpectedly, she asked me and Ye Zi to come pick you up."
"She's been really busy lately," Ye Zi chimed in, supporting Xianya's explanation. "Her reputation has grown, and other Safe Zones are looking to her for assignments."
"Let's get in the car first," Ye Zi suggested, changing the subject. "There are so many people here, and I have social anxiety. By the way, what a cute Husky! Yelai, you have a dog now?"
With that, the three of them got into the business car that Xianya had arrived in, amidst the astonished gazes of the crowd.
"Who is that guy? He actually has Xianya and Ye Zi attending to him."
"He must be some heir from a Safe Zone family; otherwise, why would even Luo Zhenxue's Squad members come to greet him?"
"What kind of background does he have that would make someone like Luo Zhenxue, who usually avoids talking to men, meet with him?"
"I think he might be related to Ye Zi. Didn't you hear Ye Zi call her Yelai?"
"That could be possible; after all, they both share the surname Ye. They might not be direct siblings but could be distant cousins."
As the crowd murmured among themselves, inside the business car, Yelai and Xianya were also engaged in conversation.
"Yelai, Captain Luo has already prepared your daily necessities for you. However, we didn't know you had a dog. Do you want to go to the Sequence Association first to handle your registration and then head to the pet store? Or should we have Ye Zi buy everything for you?"
"I'll take care of this little matter myself," Yelai replied with a smile.
He wasn't surprised by Xianya's suggestion to go to the Sequence Association for registration; he had spoken with Luo Zhenxue over the phone last night. She had mentioned that she would recruit Yelai into her Squad and help him obtain residency rights in the Numbered Protection Zone.
Becoming her team member would not only help him avoid many troubles but also grant him an identity within the Numbered Protection Zone. It was akin to having residency status in Big City; living in the Numbered Protection Zone was quite difficult since it served as a Frontline Protection Zone. Being part of a Safe Zone's Sequence Team would provide him with those residency rights.
