Three days can feel both quick and slow, passing in a rush.
At the Numbered Protection Zone, the altar dedicated to the Sequencer awaited.
"Ye Lai, stay safe. I'll treat you to a feast when you return," Leaf said as she, Xianya, and Yuan Youmeizi came to see Ye Lai off.
After parting ways with Leaf and the others, Ye Lai crouched down to signal the Husky beside him, whispering commands into its ear. During this time, he would follow Xianya's orders.
He had no intention of taking the Gaze to the Sequence Amusement Park because he had reviewed the information provided by Xu Min. The Sequence Amusement Park was not a place where numbers equated to safety; on the contrary, the more people there were, the greater the danger. Bringing the Gaze along would only put him at risk.
Woof!
The Gaze responded with a bark. After spending time with Ye Lai, it had been tamed and seemed to understand how to respond to his commands.
Seeing this, Ye Lai smiled in satisfaction. Without further ado, he stepped toward the Transmission Altar.
"Xianya, do you think Ye Lai will be alright?" Leaf asked, her earlier smile replaced by concern as she watched Ye Lai enter the Light Vortex and disappear from view.
"I don't know if he will be fine; the dangers of the Sequence Amusement Park are evident," Xianya replied. Yuan Youmeizi chimed in beside her.
"At least Ye Lai is now Rank Eight. He should be relatively safer going to the Sequence Amusement Park than he was three days ago."
Since consuming Bloody Mary's blood, which had boosted his Rank Seven progress, Ye Lai had spent the next two days traveling to various Safe Zones based on the intel provided by Xianya. During this time, he either fought Entities or absorbed Fear.
After relentless battles against Entities without rest, combined with the manpower and resources provided by Xianya's Eighth Squad, he managed to advance his Rank Seven progress and promote to Rank Eight within those two days.
At the same time, Yelai stepped out of the Teleportation in the Numbered Protection Zone. As he emerged from the Light Vortex, he was greeted by a completely unfamiliar landscape.
To be precise, it was an alien realm.
He looked up. The sky seemed to be covered by a black curtain, devoid of any starlight, with only a waning moon hanging in the night sky, casting an air of desolation and gloom.
Yelai did not linger on the darkness for long; his attention was quickly drawn to the commotion around him.
Outside the Transmission Altar, numerous Entities passed by him.
Indeed! They were Entities.
There were many of them—at least a hundred, if not more—each one distinct from the others. This scene resembled a Yokai Parade from folklore, with hundreds of different Entities moving forward, brushing past Yelai without so much as a glance at him.
Even those who caught sight of Yelai on the altar merely glanced at him before continuing on their way without any sign of aggression.
No. The bizarre situation did not end there.
As Yelai surveyed his surroundings, he clearly noticed that aside from his Transmission Altar, there were several other Teleportation Altars nearby. Some of these altars emitted Light Vortexes, from which humans emerged.
After glancing at Yelai, some of them offered polite nods in greeting.
However, the indifferent ones didn’t even spare him a look; they simply stepped off the altar and walked away, completely unconcerned about the nearby Entities, even walking alongside them as they continued on their path together.
