The carousel was a large spinning ride, featuring several seats, known simply as the Carousel. As Yelai observed the surrounding visitors, he quickly counted the number of seats.
One seat was empty. Among the visitors, there was one Anomalous Entity. The number of guests seated on the Carousel seemed sufficient. However, when Yelai's gaze finally settled on the now-still carousel, his thoughts shifted.
What should have been a vibrant Carousel was instead stained with blood and littered with corpses—both human and Anomalous Entities alike. Only two guests had managed to walk away from the ride alive.
Yet, Yelai paid little attention to the surviving guests. He noticed that the number of Carousels was off; with only two living visitors stepping down, it felt as if one Carousel had vanished into thin air, leaving an unsettling void.
"Can you tell me about the dangers of the Carousel?" one newcomer asked the two survivors. One was human, while the other was an Anomalous Entity; it was the human who was addressed.
The human did not respond, not even glancing at the newcomer, and simply walked away.
The newcomer scoffed. In a place like Sequence Amusement Park, where trust was scarce and caution was paramount, such silence was expected; they were not overly offended.
Yelai took in this scene while remaining focused on his own decision. He chose to step onto the Carousel first. Although there appeared to be one missing seat, based on the previous batch's changes and the rules governing the ride, selecting a seat on the Carousel marked his first dangerous choice.
Before him, all Carousels looked similar aside from their different colors.
He made his decision. Yelai ultimately chose his favorite color—a Black Carousel Horse—and just as he prepared to sit down...
Buzz.
Feeling something, Yelai sensed a hand reaching out from behind him.
It wasn't just him who chose the Black Carousel Horse; an Anomalous Entity also selected this Black Carousel Horse and reached out to grab Yelai, attempting to pull him down.
Get lost.
Just as the Anomalous Entity's hand was about to touch Yelai, he turned his head in fear and activated his Sequence Power, unleashing Fear Plant.
The Anomalous Entity, which shared the same Rank Eight as Yelai, narrowed its pupils. Although it had some resistance to the same Rank Sequence Power, it couldn't completely withstand it. The moment Yelai spoke, he transformed into an Unknown Horror in its eyes, becoming the embodiment of its deepest fear.
It instinctively took a step back in terror.
What?
The sudden change did not go unnoticed by the surrounding visitors.
In the next second, several tourists who were about to board the Carousel, including both humans and Anomalous Entities, chose either to get off or to back away from the Carousel altogether. They at least didn't want to ride with Yelai.
They realized that Yelai was a Higher Sequence Being and a tough opponent; they certainly didn't want to be in the same group as him.
And I can't get off?
Damn it, does getting on mean I can't get off?
Roar?
The three tourists who came to the Sequence Amusement Park were stunned.
Watching their actions and words, the few tourists who had retreated earlier scoffed; they weren't mere visitors but Old Visitors who had been on these rides at least once before and knew how things worked.
Once you participated in an amusement ride, you couldn't get off again.
At the same time.
Roar!
Yelai glanced at the Anomalous Entity, then looked at the carousel. It wasn't completely frightened; instead, it chose to ride on a Carousel. Yelai tilted slightly to the side, sitting next to it on the Carousel.
The Anomalous Entity was all about Unknown Horror and slaughter, and it seemed intent on killing Yelai on the carousel. However, Yelai did not show any fear; a unique smile remained on its face.
The carousel began to move with a rumble. It seemed that no more guests were boarding, and the ride started to spin. At that moment, counting Yelai, there were several notable guests on the Carousel. The speed of the rotation began to increase exponentially.
Half a minute passed. The carousel spun so fast that the outside scenery became a blur. At such a pace of Unknown Horror, even a Sequencer's physical condition would be shaken; Yelai felt dizzy, as if it might vomit, with the sensation that its brain was about to fly out of its head.
Ah!!
Roar!
Around the Carousel, screams erupted as guests, overwhelmed by dizziness, lost their grip and were flung off.
