The female shop assistant pointed to the display case, explaining that all the jewelry showcased here was high-end, priced between five hundred thousand to six hundred thousand. Even from across the case, it was clear that these pieces were anything but ordinary; each one radiated a luxurious gleam, looking stunningly beautiful.
"This Gold Diamond Ring," she continued, "is set in pure gold, with a stone weight of over three carats and side stones weighing over two carats..."
Meanwhile, Lu Xiaoran had no interest in her detailed explanations. What mattered to him was how much these jewels were worth. After the shop assistant had introduced all the jewelry in the display case, she smiled brightly and asked, "Sir, have you decided which piece you would like to buy?"
Lu Xiaoran held one piece in each hand, feigning hesitation as he shook his head. "Among all the pieces I just saw, I really like these two." He paused for a moment before adding, "How about this? I'll think it over and come back in a couple of days once I've made my decision."
The shop assistant nodded, feeling that at this point, the deal was practically sealed. Whether he bought now or in two days made no difference. She respectfully escorted Lu Xiaoran to the door of the jewelry store.
"Take care, sir."
As she watched Lu Xiaoran leave, the shop assistant couldn't help but sigh inwardly. Buying fifty thousand worth of jewelry for his wife? This handsome guy sure was generous. She wondered what kind of woman was lucky enough to have such a husband. Her own partner only reluctantly bought her a silver bracelet worth a few dollars.
With that thought lingering in her mind, she sighed again and quietly returned to the jewelry store.
Lu Xiaoran hailed a taxi from the street. His next destination was a pawn shop. He had just replicated dozens of high-end jewelry pieces from that store and was now planning to exchange them for cash at the pawn shop.
Once inside the taxi, Lu Xiaoran sat in the back seat and unzipped his bag, leaving it open on his left leg. He then reached into the bag and moments later pulled out a high-end diamond ring that looked exactly like one from the jewelry store.
After about a minute of cooling down, a Jade Bracelet also appeared out of thin air inside his bag. Lu Xiaoran continued replicating jewelry from that store until his backpack was stuffed full.
This should be enough, he thought as he zipped up his bag and leaned back against the seat of the taxi, drifting off to sleep.
Before long, the taxi arrived at its destination. After getting out, Lu Xiaoran hurried toward the Pawn Shop.
The shopkeeper of this pawn shop was a Mediterranean uncle with very few strands of hair left on his head. Upon seeing Lu Xiaoran enter, he inquired about the business he wanted to conduct.
"I would like to apply for a pawn loan; these jewels will be used as collateral," Lu Xiaoran replied, placing his backpack on the table and unzipping it.
When the shopkeeper saw what was inside the backpack, his mouth dropped open in astonishment. The bag was packed full of high-end jewelry. Based on his long experience in this line of work, he could tell at a glance that these jewels were all top-tier products from well-known brands, requiring no appraisal.
The Mediterranean uncle thought to himself: Could it be that this kid's family runs a jewelry store?
