The battery responsible for powering the entire house was down to just five percent. It seemed like it was time to go out.
Lu Xiaoran used his ability to replicate a new battery and replaced the old one. After that, he created a large woven bag and stuffed all the trash, along with the old battery, into it.
After thinking for a moment, Lu Xiaoran went to the bathroom and retrieved a waste tank. Since the safe house had no connection to the outside world, all wastewater generated inside was stored in this waste tank. Lu Xiaoran was now ready to dispose of this waste tank along with the trash he had just collected. He could replicate this kind of container easily, so throwing it away didn’t feel like a loss at all.
Lu Xiaoran found the hazmat suit he had previously replicated and put it on. Rather than looking like a typical hazmat suit, once donned, it resembled a full set of armor.
With one hand holding the woven bag and the other carrying the waste tank, Lu Xiaoran opened both the inner and outer doors, preparing to step out of the safe house. Outside, a group of villagers had gathered around the house, curious about what it was used for.
"Hey, look over there!"
Lu Xiaoran had just opened the outer door of the safe house. With a clank, the lock turned, and a crack appeared in the previously seamless surface of the house. The villagers standing directly in front saw this crack and turned to their companions in surprise.
Other villagers also turned to look at the crack, which continued to widen until it revealed a door over a meter wide. A figure clad entirely in black armor stepped out from behind that door, holding items in both hands.
To protect the wearer from violent attacks, this hazmat suit was made entirely from alloy material, its surface extremely hard and clearly metallic. From a distance, the villagers couldn’t even tell whether this was an armored person or a metal robot.
"Who are you? Do you live in that house?" one villager called out tentatively from afar.
Lu Xiaoran ignored him and strolled leisurely outside.
"Is anyone in there? Can you hear me?"
Seeing that Lu Xiaoran showed no reaction, the villager began to doubt whether this guy in front of him was a robot.
Lu Xiaoran left the safe house and walked to the edge of the open space, tossing the trash down the slope. After brushing off his hands, he turned around, ready to head back the way he came.
"I think that might be a robot," said Xiao Liu. "Why don't you use your sickle to check it out?"
The villager, noticing that Lu Xiaoran completely ignored his question, turned to a nearby man holding a sickle, known as Sneaky Man, and whispered.
"Alright, I'll give it a try," Sneaky Man replied confidently, not feeling that there was any danger in doing so.
He held the sickle, which was over a meter long, the same one he had used earlier to cut wild grass and willow branches on the mountain.
