After the three were tied up, Wang Fugui took out the phone that Lu Zhengjun had just handed him. He opened the chat interface with Lu Xiaoran and directly initiated a video call.
At that moment, Lu Xiaoran was lounging on the sofa watching television when he saw that Lu Zhengjun was calling him via video. He thought that Lu Zhengjun had already arrived at the safe house and quickly opened the surveillance video to see what was going on. However, the surveillance footage showed nothing but an empty stretch of land scattered with stones. Could it be that this old man had gone to the wrong place?

But when the call connected, the face on the screen was not Lu Zhengjun's; it was a middle-aged man who looked to be in his forties.
Confused about who this person was, Lu Xiaoran heard Wang Fugui slowly speak from the other end: "You must be Lu Xiaoran, right? I wonder if you remember me; we met before."
Hearing this, Lu Xiaoran thought that the man did indeed look somewhat familiar. After thinking for a moment, he recalled that this person was the Village Committee Director from Dragon Ridge Village. He had signed documents with this man when he went to handle the contracting of the barren mountain.
"I recognize you; you're that Village Committee Director from before, right? What do you want with me? And why are you using Lu Zhengjun's phone to call me?"
Wang Fugui squinted his eyes, a cold smile creeping onto his lips. He turned the phone's camera towards Lu Zhengjun and his family, who were tied to a tree, and continued speaking to Lu Xiaoran: "These three were just captured by us on the mountain. You should recognize them."
Lu Xiaoran looked at the video and saw that Lu Zhengjun's family was tied up and looking quite disheveled. Especially Lu Zihau, who appeared so frightened that he had wet his pants.
Seeing this scene almost made Lu Xiaoran laugh out loud; he thought to himself: Their luck is really terrible to have been caught by this group.
Noticing that Lu Xiaoran had seen the three of them, Wang Fugui continued: "Now, hand over your food and let us take that house; we can guarantee not to harm them."
Lu Xiaoran smirked and replied playfully: "What if I refuse?"
"Don't expect us to show any mercy if you won't talk," Wang Fugui shouted at the villagers outside the camera's view.
A tall man stepped up to Lu Zhengjun and delivered a powerful kick to his stomach. Lu Zhengjun let out a horrific scream, his face contorting in pain.
At that moment, another villager approached Liu Huilan and began slapping her face repeatedly. Liu Huilan's cheeks swelled from the blows, and she cried out in anguish like a slaughtered pig.
The third villager moved in front of Lu Zihau and threw a punch directly at his face.
