After Du Gang and the others arrived upstairs, they took turns violently slamming against the Liu Family's door. Some used their shoulders to ram it, while others kicked it, and before long, the door showed clear signs of loosening.
Inside, Liu Qingwan and her family of three were terrified, their faces pale and their bodies trembling uncontrollably. The sounds of the robbers crashing against the door felt like a death knell ringing for them. Each impact sent shivers through their hearts.
What should they do now? At this rate, the door would be broken down. Liu Guang, think of something quickly!
Fang Mingyue was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, shouting loudly at Liu Guang beside her. However, Liu Guang was at his wit's end; there were too many robbers, and four families had already fallen victim to them. Now that the robbers had come for them, it was clear that they stood no chance. All they could do was wait for death.
Without answering Fang Mingyue's question, Liu Guang silently paced back and forth in the living room. Fang Mingyue stood there stamping her feet in frustration; she hated Lu Xiaoran for bringing the thieves to their doorstep. But Lu Xiaoran's whereabouts were unknown, and she had no way to vent her anger on him.
So Fang Mingyue directed her fury at her daughter, Liu Qingwan. Grabbing Liu Qingwan's hair tightly, she slapped her twice across the face and shouted angrily, "How could you be so foolish? You had to provoke Lu Xiaoran! Now our whole family is going to be killed because of you!"
Feeling wronged after being slapped by her mother for no reason, Liu Qingwan argued back loudly, "Is this really my fault? Why are you hitting me?"
"Isn't it your fault? Weren't you the one who invited Lu Xiaoran into our community group?" Fang Mingyue grew angrier with each thought and slapped Liu Qingwan twice more.
Just as the two were embroiled in a heated argument, the front door suddenly crashed open with a loud bang. Six robbers rushed into the house, each wielding knives and clubs, their eyes filled with murderous intent that sent chills down everyone's spine.
Seeing these men, Liu Guang's legs went weak, and he fell to his knees with a thud. He knew he was no match for them and could only plead for his life.
Kneeling at Du Gang's feet, Liu Guang bowed his head repeatedly while begging in a voice full of desperation, "Brothers, we will give you all our food; please spare our lives."
Du Gang glanced sideways at Liu Guang, his expression dark and foreboding.
With a swift motion, he swung the baton in his hand and struck Liu Guang hard on the head. "Where's that little brat who was talking tough in the group just now? Tell him to come out!" he shouted angrily.
Liu Guang clutched his bleeding head, trembling as he replied, "That guy doesn't live with us; we have no idea where he is."
Du Gang snorted coldly and instructed his subordinates, the Five Little Brothers, "Search each room. Make sure you find that kid."
The Five Little Brothers rummaged through everything for a long time, but eventually returned to Du Gang with disappointed expressions. "Boss, that kid might really not be here," one of them said. "We've searched everywhere and couldn't even find a trace of him. And..."
The speaking brother paused for a moment before continuing to Du Gang, "We just opened the fridge to check, but there were no photos or any of his food."
