After saying this, Ma Zhibiao waved at Lu Xiaoran and headed towards the stairs.
Once the door was closed, Lu Xiaoran activated his Flying Ability and took to the air, wanting to test whether his ability had strengthened after two enhancements. He flew around the entire room and felt that his speed was indeed faster than before.
The space in the room was too small; he decided to wait for an opportunity to test it in a more open area. With over a hundred square meters of space, he couldn't fully utilize his Ability here.
So, Lu Xiaoran landed back on the ground and lay down on his bed.
The next morning, Lu Xiaoran went to room Zero One and called out for Ma Zhibiao.
"Wait for me to pack my things; I'll be ready in two minutes."
Ma Zhibiao put on his Gas Mask, secured his handgun at his waist, then opened the door again and went downstairs with Lu Xiaoran.
They both got into a car together.
After leaving the shelter, the car sped along the road and finally stopped in front of a residential building.
Once they got out of the car, Ma Zhibiao's eyes remained fixed on Lu Xiaoran. He followed closely behind Lu Xiaoran as they entered the residential building.
This guy didn’t wear a Gas Mask or take any protective measures. He walked through the toxic gas without showing any symptoms. It seemed he truly possessed an Ability that granted Immunity to Poison Gas.
Ma Zhibiao silently analyzed this; while Lu Xiaoran hadn't lied about his Ability, there could still be other tricks involved. He knew he couldn't let his guard down.
The two of them made their way to the sixth floor. Ma Zhibiao took the initiative and said to Lu Xiaoran, "Let’s crash through this door together and try to get it open quickly."
Lu Xiaoran nodded in response and followed Ma Zhibiao to the door of room 602.
He noticed that when Ma Zhibiao charged at the door, he kept glancing back at him, his gaze lingering on Lu Xiaoran.
A sense of unease crept into Lu Xiaoran's mind.
"Why do I feel like Ma Zhibiao is constantly watching me? Did Zhang Kaiwen say something to him yesterday?"
After pondering for a moment, Lu Xiaoran decided that he couldn't use his stronger physical Ability right now.
If he used that ability to quickly break down the door, it would surely raise Ma Zhibiao's suspicions. If he really was sent by Zhang Kaiwen to monitor me, then I must play the role of an ordinary person. Otherwise, if he discovers any flaws, those in the shelter might unite against me.
With this thought in mind, Lu Xiaoran decided not to use his strong ability at all and relied solely on his own strength to charge at the iron door in front of him.
After about a quarter of an hour, the two finally managed to break through the door. Both of them were holding the machetes that had been distributed by Zhang Kaiwen earlier. Upon seeing the door open, they immediately raised their machetes and rushed inside.
