We were taken by Luo Ge to their "base," a seemingly extremely crude and dilapidated port.
The port is mostly filled with the kind of outwardly dilapidated but actually powerful modified fishing boats, and the deck is similarly dressed, as if they were fishermen returning from sea. Scattered a few kilometers away are some rundown villages, with women and children.
This is the notorious pirate base, where lawlessness and poverty have created everything here. These seemingly honest men are fishermen when they behave, and pirates when they don't.
Not far away, a merchant ship is anchored on the sea, waiting for negotiations and ransom, the spoils of some unknown force's expedition.
Luo Ge and his boss welcomed us. His boss is a Caucasian: bald, sharp-eyed. If it weren't for the difference in skin color, you would mistake him for the bald eagle in the movie "Shaolin Temple."
Luo Ge used to be a soldier, dealing with terrorism on the border, getting injured and shedding blood, and also achieving merit. He was once Qin Jian's platoon leader.
But now he is a pirate.
A few years ago, the village in my hometown was illegally demolished and developed by unscrupulous developers. Of course, all of this was told to me by Qin Jian.

Qin Jian held a cigarette in one hand, exhaling smoke into the air. "We went on a mission together, fighting against foreign armed forces in the pitch-black night. Because we lost our documents and personal belongings in the shipwreck, Luo Ge helped us contact the embassy for assistance. It took about a month to sort out all the procedures and connections. Finally, we boarded the flight back home.
The plane landed at Hongqiao Airport, and we walked down the gangway.
After leaving the terminal, we were stopped by a group of police officers.
Chen Yiran and Liu Xinxin did not appear sad or scared. They bowed and thanked us, saying, "Thank you for saving us!" Then they were taken away by several female police officers. They are suspected of involvement in a large-scale telecommunications fraud and are unlikely to be released in the short term.
Meanwhile, the rest of us also need to assist the police in their investigation.
After all, it's hard to say about our experiences in a foreign country.

On New Year's Day in the future, Qin Jian and I are getting married. From colleagues to close friends, after going through this ordeal, we have truly accepted each other in our hearts. With Luo Ge, everything that should happen between a man and a woman has already happened.
