Following the sound, Lu Xiaoran quickly arrived at the location where he had set the trap elevator.
With a loud clang, Lu Xiaoran kicked the elevator's iron door wide open. He then stepped inside, bent down, and picked up the phone that was playing music on the floor. After rummaging through it, Lu Xiaoran found the WeChat chat history between this person and Zhang Kaiwen.
Imitating this person's tone, Lu Xiaoran sent a message to Zhang Kaiwen. "Boss, I'm not in a position to take calls right now, so let's communicate here on WeChat."
Lu Xiaoran was currently at the top of the television tower. He saw that this person had laid out their clothes on the ground and was lying there, seemingly preparing to spend the night.
After hitting send, it wasn't long before he received a reply from Zhang Kaiwen. "Okay. You all should hold off on taking action for now; we have a few minutes until we arrive. Once we get upstairs, we'll strike together."
A smug smile crept onto Lu Xiaoran's face. Clearly, Zhang Kaiwen hadn't detected anything unusual and completely believed Lu Xiaoran's lies. Now, all Lu Xiaoran had to do was wait patiently for them to come to him.
"Haha, you guys are about to become my possessions," Lu Xiaoran thought to himself as he roughly estimated that it would take those people a few more minutes to reach the base of the tower. Climbing from the bottom to the top would take at least half an hour.
He could easily prepare during this time and once they reached the top, he would be ready to catch them all in one fell swoop.
After putting on his Hazmat Suit, Lu Xiaoran activated his Flying Ability and slowly ascended into the air. He adjusted his position in midair and then charged toward the staircase.
With a thunderous crash, as Lu Xiaoran kicked forward, the already dilapidated staircase shook violently. Large chunks of tiles and debris began to fall from it.
Lu Xiaoran circled in the air for a moment before pulling back and then sprinting toward the staircase again.
The staircase could no longer withstand Lu Xiaoran's charge, and with a loud crash, it broke in half and tumbled down to the ground below.
Without this staircase, they would have no way to reach the observation deck on the rooftop.
Looking at the completely severed stairs, Lu Xiaoran let out a long sigh. This staircase was the only passage connecting the top floor to the observation platform. With it now utterly destroyed, Zhang Kaiwen and the others would have no chance of getting to the rooftop.
Lu Xiaoran furrowed his brow slightly. Just as he had kicked the staircase, he felt something was off with his Hazmat Suit. There seemed to be something pressing against his neck, causing him some discomfort.
