In an instant, the staircase collapsed, shattering into countless fragments that scattered across the ground. This Physical Enhancement Ability had been stacked several times just moments ago. Originally, Lu Xiaoran would have needed to make at least two trips to kick the staircase apart. However, with just one kick, he had completely broken it.
This clearly demonstrated that his Physical Enhancement Ability had improved significantly compared to before. After testing a few other Abilities, Lu Xiaoran turned around, a cold smile curling at the corners of his mouth.
Now it was time to return to Fog Mountain Sanctuary and replicate the remaining Abilities of those people. Lu Xiaoran had come up with a clever plan to easily copy all the Abilities of the others in the sanctuary. He walked over to the window on this floor and lifted a nearby table, smashing it forcefully against the glass.
With a loud crash, the heavy marble table shattered the entire pane of glass. Without hesitation, Lu Xiaoran leaped through the open window and soared out effortlessly. He then raced southward toward Fog Mountain Sanctuary.
Lu Xiaoran landed not far from the foot of Fog Mountain. Here, he disguised himself as Zhang Kaiwen and prepared to enter the sanctuary under that identity. Standing still, he summoned energy from within his body. Soon, his facial features transformed into those of Zhang Kaiwen.
All set; it was time to head up the mountain. After confirming everything was in order, Lu Xiaoran ascended the steps leading up to the sanctuary entrance.
"Leader, you have returned!" Two guards at the door greeted Lu Xiaoran with utmost respect upon seeing him. Since Lu Xiaoran had used his Ability to take on Zhang Kaiwen's appearance, they failed to notice any discrepancies and treated him as if he were Zhang Kaiwen himself.
Lu Xiaoran did not speak; he simply waved his hand at the two guards and walked into the shelter. After all, Yi Yi could only change his appearance, but not his voice.
Lu Xiaoran felt a bit anxious, worrying that if he spoke too much, these people might detect a flaw. Therefore, unless absolutely necessary, he planned to keep his words to a minimum.
Once inside the shelter, Lu Xiaoran arrived at the control room on the first floor. Inside the control room, two middle-aged men with plump figures were sitting in chairs, engrossed in their phones. Upon seeing Lu Xiaoran approach, they immediately stood up from their seats and respectfully addressed him, "Chief, do you have any instructions for us?"
Lu Xiaoran nodded slightly at the two men and then lowered his voice to mimic Zhang Kaiwen's tone. He instructed them quietly, "Broadcast a message here, asking everyone in the shelter to come out and gather. I have something to discuss with them."
The two men were unsure of what Lu Xiaoran was planning, but they dared not disobey his orders. They quickly walked over to the nearby microphone and pressed the black button on its side.
