Zhou Pengfei sent someone to unload several large boxes from the vehicle, which contained the firearms he had mentioned earlier. After handing the weapons one by one to the researchers, Zhou Pengfei smiled and waved his hand at them, saying, "Alright. The weapons are now in your hands. From now on, you'll have to catch those Abilities for your experiments on your own."
With that, Zhou Pengfei left the research institute with a few companions, driving away in the same vehicle they had arrived in, disappearing without a trace.
Seeing Zhou Pengfei gone, the Director stood before everyone and spoke loudly, "Yesterday I assigned you all into groups. From now on, we will act according to the group order. Today is Group One, tomorrow is Group Two, and the day after is Third Group... and so on."
Once the last group has completed their tasks, we will start rotating from the beginning. Is everyone clear on this?
As everyone nodded in agreement, the Director pulled out his phone from his pocket and checked the group list he had prepared yesterday.
"Group One, come here," he continued. "I'll give you the car keys. You will leave in that van at eight o'clock."
The Director called out three names from the list and handed the keys to one of them.
After putting on their Hazmat Suits, the three individuals took the Net Gun Zhou Pengfei had given them and drove off in the van from Yi Research Institute.
They spent the entire day outside searching and finally returned to the research institute as evening approached and darkness began to set in.
"You've finally returned! How did it go? Did you find any Abilities?" The Director quickly approached them as they entered, eager to confirm whether they had brought back any Abilities.
As he got closer, he suddenly noticed something was off. He saw that one of the individuals had a large charred mark on their Hazmat Suit. It seemed that this person was injured and struggled to walk, needing support from another companion to move.
"What happened? Are you hurt?" The Director asked the companion who was helping him.
"Yes," came the reply. "We encountered a fire Ability. We managed to capture it using a Nylon Net, but when we approached, it suddenly unleashed a burst of fire."
"Xiao Li didn't manage to dodge in time and got burned."
The Director nodded and asked urgently, "What about that fire Ability? Did you bring it back?"
"Yes. The Ability is in the van right now. We've injected it with a Sedative; it can't move."
Hearing that they successfully captured the Ability, a look of joy spread across the Director's face. He waved his hand at them and said, "That's good. Now take care of Xiao Li's wounds first. I'll call a few people over to quickly bring that Ability down from the van."
Xiao Li was supported by someone as he was brought to the medical room on the second floor. Upon seeing his injuries, several people in the medical room quickly approached him and began to help remove the half-burned Hazmat Suit from his body.
"Ah, it hurts so much!"
The burned part of the Hazmat Suit had tightly adhered to Xiao Li's skin. The excruciating pain as it was being pulled off made Xiao Li let out a heart-wrenching scream.
Once the Hazmat Suit was completely removed, everyone turned their heads to look at Xiao Li's body.
