One day, a mysterious visitor arrived in the village.
He inquired about the whereabouts of Zhang Qi and the monkey, and when he found them, his eyes gleamed with an unusual light.
"You are the ones who came out of the Ancient Tomb of Youling, aren't you?" the stranger asked.
Zhang Qi regarded him warily. "Who are you? Why are you asking about that?"
The mysterious man smiled slightly. "My name is Lin Yu, and I am an archaeologist. I have been studying that ancient tomb for a long time and have discovered some astonishing secrets about it. I need your help."
Zhang Qi frowned. "We have decided not to venture into that tomb again; it is too dangerous."
Lin Yu, however, was unfazed. "You don't understand. The tomb hides not only treasures but also truths that could concern the entire history. If we can unravel its secrets, it will have a tremendous impact on the field of archaeology."
The monkey listened from the side, feeling somewhat tempted. "Brother, maybe he's right. If we go back one more time, we might redeem ourselves."
Zhang Qi hesitated. On one hand, he feared facing the dangers of the tomb again; on the other hand, he was intrigued by the historical truths Lin Yu spoke of.
Ultimately, after Lin Yu's repeated persuasion, Zhang Qi and the monkey decided to follow him back to Youling.
This time, they made more thorough preparations, bringing along various advanced archaeological tools and protective equipment.
When they arrived at the Ancient Tomb of Youling once more, they found that it had already been visited by a group of tomb raiders.
The passageway was in disarray, with many traps triggered.
Lin Yu surveyed the scene before him, his brow furrowed. "It seems we are too late. I hope those tomb raiders haven't damaged any key parts of the tomb."
They continued deeper along the passageway and discovered that the stone coffin in the chamber they had encountered before had been opened, and the body inside had vanished without a trace.
A sense of foreboding surged within Zhang Qi: "The disappearance of this corpse will surely lead to greater disaster."
Deeper within the ancient tomb, they discovered a vast underground palace.
The palace was lavishly decorated, yet it was permeated by a strong stench of decay.
In the center of the palace stood a high platform, upon which rested a massive crystal ball.
Inside the crystal ball, something seemed to be swirling, emitting an eerie glow.
Lin Yu approached the crystal ball, eager to examine it closely.
Just as he drew near, a gigantic creature suddenly leaped out from the shadows beside them. The creature resembled a spider but was larger than an elephant, its body covered in sharp spines.
The monkey screamed in terror, "What is that thing?"
Zhang Qi quickly grabbed his weapon and confronted the monster. "Whatever it is, we have to find a way to deal with it."
Lin Yu also pulled out a specially designed handgun from his backpack and fired at the creature.
However, the bullets merely sparked against its body, causing no damage whatsoever.
The monster lunged at them, and Zhang Qi and the monkey scrambled to evade it.
In the chaos, Zhang Qi noticed that the creature's eyes seemed to be its weak point.
He shouted, "Aim for its eyes!"
Hearing this, Lin Yu and the monkey redirected their attacks toward the monster's eyes.
After a fierce battle, they finally succeeded in striking the monster's eye, causing it to crash to the ground.
They breathed a sigh of relief and continued exploring the underground palace.
In one corner of the palace, they discovered a massive stone tablet.
The tablet was covered in inscriptions and patterns. Lin Yu studied the content carefully, his expression growing increasingly grave.
"This contains a terrible secret," Lin Yu said. "This ancient tomb was originally a place of sealing, containing an ancient evil force. Our previous actions inadvertently damaged the seal, leading to the gradual resurgence of this evil power."
Zhang Qi and the monkey were filled with fear upon hearing this. "What should we do?"
Lin Yu pondered for a moment. "We must find a way to re-seal the evil force; otherwise, the entire world will fall into disaster."
They searched the palace for clues and finally found an ancient book in a hidden chamber.
The book detailed the ritual to seal the evil force and the items required for it. However, one crucial item—the Heart of the Sacred Relic—was missing.
Just as they were feeling troubled, they suddenly heard a melodious flute sound.
The flute sound seemed to come from all directions, making it impossible to discern its source. As the flute sound echoed, the atmosphere in the palace grew even more eerie.
They followed the direction of the flute sound and discovered a hidden passageway.
The passage was shrouded in thick mist, obscuring their view of what lay ahead.
Cautiously, they stepped into the passage when suddenly, a group of ghostly figures dressed in ancient attire appeared before them.
The ghosts lunged at them with menacing claws, and Zhang Qi and the monkey swung their weapons, only to find they couldn't touch the spirits at all. Lin Yu realized that these ghosts were controlled by an evil force, rendering ordinary attacks ineffective against them.
He pulled out some special powder from his backpack and scattered it toward the ghosts.
As the powder made contact with the spirits, it emitted a dazzling light, causing the ghosts to dissipate one by one.
They continued down the corridor until they finally found Piper.
She was a pale woman with hollow, vacant eyes. In her hands, she clutched the Heart of the Sacred Relic, murmuring incantations under her breath.
Zhang Qi attempted to approach her to seize the Heart of the Sacred Relic.
However, a powerful force seemed to protect her, and as soon as Zhang Qi got close, he was thrown back.
Lin Yu observed the woman closely and noticed strange runes on her body.
He recalled reading about these runes in his books; they were part of an ancient sealing technique.
Only by unraveling the seal of the runes could they obtain the Heart of the Sacred Relic.
Using his knowledge, Lin Yu began to decipher the seal of the runes.
Throughout this process, the woman continuously launched attacks, forcing Zhang Qi and the monkey to defend themselves with all their might.
After a grueling effort, Lin Yu finally succeeded in breaking the seal of the runes.
Seizing the opportunity, Zhang Qi rushed forward and snatched the Heart of the Sacred Relic.
However, just as he grasped it, the woman let out a piercing scream and transformed into a wisp of black smoke, vanishing into thin air.
They returned to the underground palace with the Heart of the Sacred Relic and began the Sealing Ritual as recorded in the texts.
During the ceremony, the evil force struggled relentlessly, attempting to break free from its seal.
Zhang Qi, the Monkey, and Lin Yu worked together, ultimately succeeding in re-sealing the malevolent power.
As the evil force was contained, the dangers within the ancient tomb gradually dissipated.
Exhausted, they emerged from the tomb and gazed at the sunlight outside, filled with reflection.
"I will never forget this experience for the rest of my life," said the Monkey.
Zhang Qi nodded. "Yeah, we almost caused a disaster. We can’t be so reckless again."
Lin Yu looked at them. "Thanks to both of you, I couldn't have completed the sealing alone without your help."
From that day on, Zhang Qi and the Monkey bid farewell to their tomb raiding careers and embraced a peaceful and stable life.
Meanwhile, Lin Yu compiled this experience into documentation for archaeological research.
The Ancient Tomb of Youling was sealed once more, becoming a terrifying tale that existed only in legend.
