Throughout their journey, they had changed outfits and vehicles multiple times, successfully shaking off quite a few pursuers. In the end, only three groups remained closely tailing them.
In addition to Qi Xiaomian and Qi Hao, there was also the Liang Family, ranked second among the martial families in the Jianghu. Qi Xiaomian explained that the Liang Family was more upright than the Qi Family. In terms of martial arts skills, the Liang Family was not inferior to the Qi Family. Though their voices were low, they were still overheard by the Liang Family not far behind. The Liang Family quickly caught up and remarked, "You two young ladies are quite something! Just like my wife—it's not about looks; for men, it's about loving their wives and having strength. Can a pretty face put food on the table?"
The Liang Family's voice was loud; he wasn't afraid of offending anyone. He had made similar comments in front of the Qi Family numerous times without any repercussions.
Hearing this, Qi Xiaopeng dared not confront the Liang Family directly and instead chose to pick on softer targets like Qi Xiaomian. "Mind your woman's mouth!" he warned.
Before he could say anything more offensive, Li Cu swiftly kicked him away.
"Monster!" shouted one of the Demon Catchers from the Qi Family as he reacted first and shouted to take action. Another beside him quickly held him back.
She was a Spirit Familiar.
"Spirit Familiar? Nonsense! Which Demon Catcher is this, so ignorant of the rules? A Spirit Familiar should be properly kept in the Demon Sealing Bag, how can she be allowed to roam freely in the world!"
Another person couldn't help but cover his mouth, "Can you please be quiet? Miss Sang, is the Spirit Familiar someone you can control?"
"Huh? You recognize me?" Sang Qingxiao asked.
The man bowed his head and replied, "I am Su Songhua, from the Su Family. I am the fourth uncle of Su Mengmeng and have seen you from a distance at the Office of Censors."
