After Qi Xiaopeng stood up, he continued to mumble to himself, crying softly about how his father didn't care for him and his mother didn't love him. He decided to go find his brother, but realizing his brother had been busy all day, he changed his mind and thought, "I'll go find mother instead. Mother, your little son is here to see you again. Mother, your little son is here to apologize again." 0

Adaptable and quick-witted, this Third Brother of yours could become someone important if he focused on his tasks. 0

Qi Xiaomian also remarked that he used to be the most arrogant and unreasonable person, and he never expected him to reach this point. 0

Although he was not very agreeable by nature, it did not mean he lacked intelligence. "Let's go welcome him at Madam's place," they decided. 0

Sang Qingxiao and Qi Xiaomian arrived just in time to see Zhang Jingxue, who had been tossing and turning in bed, finally relieved to hear that her son was safe. But before she could fully relax, he stumbled in, already rambling drunkenly. "Mother, father is annoying me! He even kicked me out! Woe is me, mother! Peng Er has only you who cares for him!" 0

As Qi Xiaopeng saw Kissing Relative in the room with Qi Xiaomian, he let out a series of drunken belches. How could he let them see him in such a drunken state? It was too embarrassing. 0

He quickly tried to cover it up with a few words. "Hic! Do you understand? If it weren't for my quick thinking today, I would have been left there! Hic! What is face compared to life? I was scared all day long, and you're just standing there scaring me." 0

When Qi Xiaopeng's gaze shifted and landed on Sang Qingxiao, terrifying memories flooded back into his mind. He rushed forward and grabbed Sang Qingxiao's hand, tears streaming down his face. "Master! You really spoke the truth! That was an Evil Spirit! Your incense works too well! But you didn’t tell me it worked so well! Everything caught me off guard; if I hadn’t been cautious beforehand, today would have been my death anniversary!" 0

Qi Xiaomian forcibly pried his hand away and shoved a cup of tea into it before pushing him down onto a stool. Seeing him still dazedly muttering, he realized that Sang Qingxiao wasn't intentionally being rude. 0

Qi Xiaomian wanted to scold him a bit but before he could say anything, Qi Xiaopeng suddenly smashed the cup. "I can't stand seeing the water surface in any container these days!" 0

"Do you think I saw the true face of that Evil Spirit through the water in that basin? I saw it reflected there!" 0

"The Master said that once the incense is lit, the ghostly shadow will appear on its face," Qi Xiaopeng continued. "I thought if I kept staring at his face and he noticed... what then?" 0

So under the pretense of feeling nauseous from drinking too much, he wandered around looking for water until he found a plain basin with clear water where fish were swimming. 0

Then, borrowing from his drunkenness, he moved around in front of Sang Qingxiao searching for a suitable spot for reflection. 0

Listening to Qi Xiaopeng vividly recount what had just happened made Qi Xiaomian curious. "How did you light the incense?" 0

"Am I that foolish to light incense in front of him?" Qi Xiaopeng replied. "The Master already said that any scent would do as long as it doesn't mix easily with others. So I prepared some fragrant meat wrapped in a cloth beforehand." 0

After finding a good reflection point, he took out the smoked meat and nibbled on it while shaking the cloth in front of the Evil Spirit. 0

Just one shake caused a change on the Evil Spirit's face; a cloud of black smoke obscured it. Terrified, Qi Xiaopeng quickly lowered his head to nibble on the smoked meat while keeping an eye on the basin. As the black smoke dissipated, ghostly faces appeared—some particularly fierce while others looked somewhat normal. 0

The surface of the water was not as clear as a mirror nor as clear as human eyes could see, but one could still make out about seventy or eighty percent of their monstrous appearances. The atmosphere made everything even more terrifying. 0

Even though he was frightened out of his wits, he didn’t forget to keep track of time. As soon as the moment arrived, he lifted the basin and took a sip of water before quickly soaking the cloth in it and rubbing it over his face several times. 0

Here, Qi Xiaopeng looked at Sang Qingxiao and confirmed, "Master, you said that the fragrance disperses upon contact with water. If I do this, I won't leave any hidden dangers, right?" 0
