Compared to the luxurious grandeur of Qi Family, Liang Family was understated and stable, choosing exterior walls in the same color tones as the commoners' residences. Their tallest building was merely a few stories high; there were no guards dressed in fine silks at the entrance, nor were there teams of sentinels patrolling around the walls.
At this hour, Qi Family had likely already retired for the night. In contrast, Liang Family was still bustling with activity, with groups gathering together to spar and showcase their martial arts skills. Li Cu must have been fitting in well at Liang Family these past few days because as soon as she appeared, someone pulled her into a match. She clearly enjoyed this atmosphere but declined due to having matters to attend to that night.
The young members of Liang Family didn’t pry into her reasons; they simply urged her to come back for another match another day. After breaking free from the crowd, Li Cu took a few steps back before turning around again.
"Sang Qingxiao," he asked, "are they a good couple?"
Li Cu shook his head. "When I fought against them, I only used a bit of my strength. Honestly, there wasn't much satisfaction in winning or losing. I just liked their vibrant energy, like those fresh recruits who just entered the military—innocent and foolishly persistent. It's quite amusing."
It turned out to be a taste of the past.
In the Liang Residence, as they walked further in, they noticed fewer people around.
Li Cu explained, "The Liang Family Head is quite perceptive. Seeing us retreating deeper into the residence, he cleared the area himself. When we met him, he didn't ask about the reasons; he was just cheerful all day long."
