Ten days had passed, and when I looked at him again, his external wounds were festering, yet his breathing had grown stronger. The Magic Breath within him was slowly circulating; though it was just a little, it was a miracle.
I finally decided to save him, helping him to regulate the Magic Breath in his body and teaching him some Magic Techniques. He felt that his progress was slow, working day and night without rest, but I was deeply moved by his effort and resilience.
In truth, I regretted not praising him back then. Even with extraordinary talent in magic, he might not have been able to do better given his circumstances.
Years later, he left. After a few more years, I heard that he had become a general to protect the homeland, just like me, which brought me great comfort.
I never expected that many years later, he would return to the cliff's edge again, presenting me with an opportunity. I forced Qi Hao into a perilous situation, provoking the many spirits within him to fight for control. After several rounds of depletion, I managed to merge my soul and body, significantly increasing my strength. With Qi Xiaomian and the Cultivation Method assisting me, I returned to the human realm.
Huo Qi paused here, taking a deep breath with a look of ecstasy on his face. "Being human is wonderful; even the air feels pleasant."
After listening intently to the story, Li Cu asked, "Huo, Senior, are you completely human now?"
"Yes," I replied. "I can be human or demon. I still possess a Demon Bone; if I integrate it, I become a demon; if I withdraw it, I revert to being human. This allows for multiple transformations."
However, the process of transformation can be quite painful. This is something I've gradually figured out after years of retreating.
Li Cu's eyes lit up upon hearing this. "Huo, Senior, that's impressive! When you are in human form, do you still have your skills?"
"Of course," I said. "The God of Killing's Huo Qi skills are ingrained in my very being. When Qi Hao took my soul, I infused my Inner Strength into my spirit, swelling like a balloon."
Once inside him, he realized that he had frightened Qi Hao so much that he couldn't move at all and lay in bed for several months. Only after realizing nothing was wrong did he dare to move around.
I used my Inner Strength to gradually strengthen my spirit; this was something I pioneered myself. In the beginning, I took many wrong turns. It wasn't until I sorted out my Inner Strength that my spirit returned to its original state.
Sang Qingxiao listened with great interest; such methods would suit her perfectly. She was about to ask more questions when familiar sounds of a woman crying came from outside. Instinctively, Sang Qingxiao tossed a few Spatial Symbols toward Huo Qi; their scent overwhelmed him.
He endured the discomfort and self-deprecatingly remarked that having fought through mountains of corpses and seas of blood before, he had encountered all sorts of smells. Yet now, upon catching this whiff suddenly, he found himself somewhat unaccustomed.
Sang Qingxiao apologized. "Huo, Senior, please bear with it for a moment. That voice outside sounds like Qi Xiaomian's Princess. If you don't want her accompanying you back to the capital, you'll need to put on a show."
Upon hearing this, Huo Qi's expression stiffened as he realized he had forgotten about her. "I can't stand her clinginess! Quickly tell me what I should do."
"You don't need to do too much," she replied. "This He Chuan Princess is infatuated merely with Qi Hao's face."
The He Chuan Princess outside cried out for a while but was blocked by Sang Qingxiao's runes and couldn't get in. Just as she was getting frantic and exasperated, the door opened.
