Huo Qi hadn't had enough fun yet and chased after He Chuan, who was running even faster. After He Chuan disappeared from sight, he laughed heartily, finding it amusing, but also complained about his outfit and smell, insisting on washing himself with several buckets of water.
The next day, he still appeared with a haggard look when meeting the prominent families that had come to visit. In truth, it was enough to keep the news sealed so that He Chuan wouldn't realize he was pretending. However, Huo Qi couldn't stand looking like a young tenderling.
He begged Sang Qingxiao to age his appearance by twenty years. With a more imposing presence and, naturally, without any foul odor, he easily intimidated the group of Old Foxes. For Huo Qi, it was as simple as flipping his hand; just a few words made the Old Foxes' hearts tremble.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, he passed the position of family head to Qi Xiao Kun. After several days of martial arts gatherings, he finally paved the way for Qi Xiao Kun and set the stage for him.
In his spare time, he didn't forget to tease He Chuan. He scared her so much that she didn't open the courtyard door for several days when he asked if she wanted to go to Jingjing City. Even though He Chuan was still recovering from the shock of his sudden change, she unhesitatingly refused.
A man with an unappealing appearance and a rebellious son with grand ideas—He Chuan had no desire to be around them! Especially when returning to Jingjing City; it was rare for her to go back once, only to bring back a bunch of jokes and disgrace. It would be better not to return at all.
After setting a date for their return, Huo Qi finally met Silly Beast. Silly Beast looked aggrieved and furious. Although it wasn't used to its master having a new face, it still affectionately reported its grievances: "Master, they are bad! They tied me up, drugged me, and forgot about me! They are especially bad for not letting me see you!"
Li Cu awkwardly explained that at the time of the emergency, they were afraid it would cause trouble. The main concern was its powerful Magic Technique; if someone saw it, it would be a serious matter. They had no choice but to confine it first. Even though they used several stone doors, Silly Beast broke through them with just a few punches. Later on, they bound it with very sturdy chains, but it still managed to break free. They had no choice but to drug it; the medicine was absolutely safe and carefully selected with no side effects.
However, things developed too quickly afterward, and there were too many loose ends to tie up. They simply forgot in the rush; it wasn't intentional at all. As soon as they remembered, they hurriedly brought it over.
Silly Beast ignored Li Cu's apologies and pouted its fists in pain while crossing its arms around its body. It complained that the bindings were too tight and hurt its flesh. Then it raised a hand to touch its own head and continued whining about how strong the drug was and how it had a headache.
With various acts of cuteness and charm while reporting grievances, Silly Beast wanted Huo Qi to pet it. Huo Qi knew all too well what this little creature was thinking since he had raised it himself. He didn't want to indulge it too much but softened at its affectionate and aggrieved gaze. He gently patted its big head and offered some rare comforting words.
As Silly Beast pressed closer in an attempt to gain more affection, Huo Qi pushed it away and said reasonably, "I heard what others said; it's not wrong. Now that your master has been reborn into this world with a magical beast by my side, it's truly inappropriate—especially with your tendency to go wild; you definitely need some discipline."
Then he turned back to Li Cu and asked, "That medicine you mentioned—does it really work? I've thought of many methods to treat it before with little effect. If the medicine is effective, give me some so I can use it when it's being clingy or going wild; it'll save me quite a bit of effort."
