When several people went to find Lao Lu, he was hurriedly coming out of the house, carrying a few jars of wine, his eyes still red.
Seeing them blocking his way, Lao Lu exclaimed, "What are you all doing here together? I have important matters today and no time to scheme with you."
"What are you in such a rush for?" Sang Qingxiao asked. Lao Lu replied politely, "My brothers have just returned, right? It's not easy for them to come back, so let them enjoy some earthly wine."
"But they always arrive before the rooster crows, and there are still three hours until then. There's no need to rush. Just put down the wine jars and let's talk."
Lao Lu looked around warily and said, "With the way you all are acting, are you planning to strike first? Are you afraid the Government will find out I'm a murderer and implicate you? So you want to deal with me ahead of time?"
"You think we need this many people just to handle you? Lao Lu," Sang Qingxiao said seriously, "Have you made any new acquaintances recently? Or has anything strange happened around you?"
Lao Lu seemed to recall something but immediately shook his head in denial.
"If you won't speak, we already know it's right beside you. It's a dangerous entity that could take your life at any moment. Just relax; once we catch it, you can continue enjoying your wine and toast to your departed friends."
However, Lao Lu shook his head while stepping back. "You’ve come to the wrong place; it’s just me here."
"Lao Lu, you can't protect yourself."
Huo Qi couldn't wait any longer; he grabbed Lao Lu by the neck and pulled him closer, smiling into his eyes. "Nice to meet you; isn't this a bit too barbaric? Why don't you just come out yourself?"
Indeed, the Mirror Demon was hiding within Lao Lu's pupils. The pupils could reflect a person's shadow; isn’t that a mirror of sorts?
Huo Qi's words hung in the air without response.
He chuckled again, "I was mistaken before; without light, where would a mirror come from?"
Amidst piles of books, Huo Qi finally found some information about the Mirror Demon. The book stated that when the Mirror Demon leaves its mirror, it can exist in the world for a period of time depending on its strength.
If it stays away too long, it wouldn't immediately take a life; its physical strength and abilities would diminish exponentially over time. It could return to the mirror if found again, but the recovery process would be much slower.
Thus, this kind of risky endeavor was generally not something the Mirror Demon would recklessly attempt; if it lost its mirror, it would immediately seek another one.
Huo Qi thought that forcing it out was simple—he just needed to block all light in this realm.
As darkness enveloped the surroundings, the Mirror Demon hesitated. After a moment, it sighed in the dark and left Lao Lu's pupils.
At the moment it revealed itself, Misha couldn't see its true form but sensed an aura of extreme weakness emanating from it.
Could it be that this wasn't the Mirror Demon he knew?
Misha eagerly summoned a glimmer of light, dazzling the eyes of the Mirror Demon. It was him! There was no mistake! His face was pale, and his back had hunched over considerably.
The others also turned their attention to him. This demon, due to his immense power and advanced evolution, had transformed to the point where he bore little difference from a human. He appeared to be in his thirties or forties, with graying hair but a youthful face. His eyes were filled with helplessness and innocence as they scanned the crowd.
Cang Xuan!
Misha called out his name, but the Mirror Demon did not respond immediately. He stood there, lost and bewildered, looking around aimlessly.
