Before Niu Dali rose to prominence, Ding Shoudao's Bajiao was considered a top-tier existence. Common Faith often allied with the middle and upper echelons, while Bajiao maintained the interests of the lower class, creating an opposing relationship. Additionally, Niu Dali frequently employed bloody methods, whereas Ding Shoudao was known for his compassion. The conflict between these two cults was significant. 0

However, circumstances forced Ding Shoudao to temporarily retreat, hiding in a corner of the southern city. Regarding this residence, Old Vine had much to say. To outsiders, the leader's house appeared large yet empty, seemingly devoid of anything valuable. However, beneath the surface, it concealed a considerable amount of silver. While it may not have been as wealthy as other leaders, it still held a substantial sum compared to Ding Shoudao's proclaimed ideals of sharing. 0

He was just another hypocrite, albeit one with slightly more principles than other leaders. 0

Lou Old Woman passed through the wall once again, navigating her way to a brightly lit room where Ding Shoudao awaited her. Upon seeing her, he wrinkled his brow in disgust. 0

Lou Old Woman cackled with her crow-like voice and produced a small Immortal Statue that stood as tall as her forearm from her bag. After placing it down, she stepped aside, her expression turning wooden once more. 0

The Immortal Statue began to speak. "Ding Shoudao's methods are quite impressive; after all this time, that useless Niu Dali hasn't traced anything back to you." 0

Ding Shoudao retorted, "What do they need to investigate me for? The mastermind behind this is clearly you." 0

The Immortal Statue laughed and denied it. "How could it be me? This infanticide was entirely your scheme from start to finish; I know nothing about it." 0

"You know perfectly well!" Ding Shoudao shot back. "You exploited my weaknesses and forced my hand. Even under the layers of guards at Niu Mansion, I merely manipulated a few people and still hit my target. If it weren't for your involvement, who would believe it?" 0

Yet the Immortal Statue countered with a smile, "Ding Shoudao must have forgotten that the guards at Niu Mansion were sent by Niu Dali from the palace. I don't have much interaction with the royal family; how could I command them?" 0

Thus, the one who provided convenience also became evident. 0

Ding Shoudao remained skeptical. "You are an immortal; it's easy for you to command them with just a wave of your hand without needing to communicate with royalty." 0

"You misunderstand," the Immortal Statue replied. "Let's not dwell on this; we both know what's going on. The methods of an immortal are indeed frightening. I'm timid and value my life; I'm afraid that if I say too much, I'll provoke your wrath and end up not knowing how I died." 0

"Alas," Ding Shoudao sighed, "you hold quite a prejudice against me. It's all that scoundrel Niu Dali's fault; I also blame myself for not recognizing people clearly. In the past, I was so absorbed in my cultivation that I turned a blind eye to what was happening outside until recently when I realized how outrageous Niu Dali has become!" 0

"But now that he has developed such power, even I must think twice before taking action. Primarily because I'm afraid those Believers will cause an uproar if he dies. Therefore, we need someone on the surface to take over for them. I've explored various options and believe you are the most suitable candidate." 0

"I mentioned this last time; I wonder how you've considered it?" 0
