Qiao Zhi'an nodded and was about to speak when suddenly a commotion erupted in the crowd. Someone shouted, "Catch the thief! Someone's stealing!"
Panic ensued as people scattered in all directions.
I felt a surge of satisfaction; it seemed my "golden finger" was indeed effective. At that moment, I noticed Chen Luoyun's expression not far away and knew she was up to something again.
I smirked inwardly; Chen Luoyun, you've finally arrived.
After chatting casually with Qiao Zhi'an for a few more moments, he pulled out another silver ingot from his pocket and handed it to the vendor. "No need for change."
The vendor gratefully accepted the silver and handed over the Hua Deng. Qiao Zhi'an took the lantern and turned to me. " Ms. Du, this lantern is for you."
“Ah!” A sharp scream shattered the lively atmosphere.
I turned towards the sound and saw Chen Luoyun being pushed aside by the crowd, stumbling and falling to the ground. I hesitated for a moment, then smirked; what was meant to happen had finally arrived.
Just as I was about to step forward to “help,” several men in black suddenly appeared, surrounding Chen Luoyun. “Help!” she cried out in terror.
Qiao Zhi'an's expression changed drastically upon seeing this; he immediately drew his sword and charged at the black-clad men, engaging them in combat. I quietly stepped back, following the “script,” and subtly moved closer to Qiao Zhi'an, pretending to be frightened as I grabbed his sleeve.
Noticing my movement, Qiao Zhi'an looked down at me, a flicker of concern in his eyes. “ Ms. Du, be careful.”
I nodded slightly, but inwardly, I was sneering. I felt a chill run down my spine; I knew Chen Luoyun's “performance” was about to begin.
“[ Bullet Screen ] Ah! Physical contact! So exciting!”
“[ Bullet Screen ] Does Qiao Zhi'an have feelings for the female lead?”
I took a deep breath, trying hard to remain calm. Just then, a commotion erupted from the crowd. “Thief! Someone is stealing!”

The men in black were not very skilled and were quickly subdued by Qiao Zhi'an. At that moment, I “just happened” to see one of them holding a sachet, about to throw it at Chen Luoyun. Quick as lightning, I snatched the sachet away and opened it, revealing that it contained a sedative!

Qiao Zhi'an took the Sachet, and his expression instantly darkened. He glanced at me with a complicated look, then turned his gaze to the pale-faced Chen Luoyun and asked in a deep voice, “Chen Luoyun, what’s going on?”
I seized the moment to speak up, “ Mr.Qiao, could there be some misunderstanding here?”
Qiao Zhi'an remained silent, merely shooting a cold glance at Chen Luoyun before turning to leave. The crowd gradually dispersed, leaving only Chen Luoyun sitting on the ground in a disheveled state, her face ashen.
I watched Chen Luoyun's back with a smirk playing at the corners of my mouth. Trying to frame me? You're still too inexperienced! I turned and walked away, leaving Chen Luoyun alone in the chaos of the wind.
