"What did you say? Are you questioning my judgment?" Chen Anlin's voice was sharp.
"I wouldn't dare."
"You wouldn't dare? I see you're quite bold. You meet me and don't even know to kneel." Chen Anlin's expression was cold and proud.
The people around them shook their heads, sighing softly.
This was the price of offending Chen Anlin. This young man was far too inexperienced to provoke someone of his stature; he was simply courting death.

Ye Hao's eyes widened in disbelief, his fists clenched tightly beneath his sleeves.

Chen Anlin showed no intention of letting Ye Hao rise. His gaze shifted to Shen Zhangqiu, who stood beside Ye Hao.

Chen Anlin smiled with amusement. "It's been a while since I've encountered such an unruly young man."
"Enough of your nonsense, Chen Anlin. I am Shen Zhangqiu, a member of the Shen family. I am not some wanted criminal, so stop trying to pin those labels on me," Shen Zhangqiu retorted bluntly.

At this moment, Ye Hao felt a jolt of anxiety but quickly steadied himself. He cupped his hands and said, "Lord Chen, my friend doesn't understand; please let him go."
"Colluding with wanted criminals, and you dare ask for leniency? How am I supposed to serve His Majesty after this?" Chen Anlin scoffed.
"You’re trying to frame me!" Shen Zhangqiu was convinced that Chen Anlin was targeting him out of spite and deliberately trying to pin the blame on him.
