A Day Later, Chen Anlin Returned to the Wan Sword Manor.
At the same time, an army of over ten thousand from the capital, along with another ten thousand soldiers from Li Huo City, began to unite and set up camp at the Wan Sword Manor. "Yes," Chen Anlin replied. "When I came here earlier, I was attacked. I suspect that this person might be from the Tang family."
"What? Is it them?" Li Xizhi exclaimed incredulously.
"I'm only suspicious," Chen Anlin clarified. "That's why I want to investigate personally. I've placed a trace of my soul power on that person; if he shows up again, I'll detect him immediately."
Li Xizhi nodded, his gaze deep as he declared, "If it truly is the Tang family behind this, then my Wan Jian Mountain Villa will not rest until we settle this score with them!"
This time, Wan Jian Mountain Villa managed to weather the storm largely thanks to Chen Anlin, who was also considered his son-in-law. How could he endure such a situation?
With that thought, Chen Anlin followed the others toward the Tang family.
Four days later, they arrived at the Tang family estate. Chen Anlin had pondered over the matter and concluded that he was merely speculating that it was the Tang family who were after him. Li Xizhi spoke, "I am the master of Wan Jian Mountain Manor. This is Chen Anlin by my side. We have come here for an important matter."
"Ah, understood. We will report it immediately," one of the guards replied.
The two guards were already aware of the situation. Recently, they had heard rumors that Wan Jian Mountain Manor was coming to call off an engagement, but they never expected them to arrive so soon.
Chen Anlin watched the two go to deliver the message, feeling a strange sensation in his heart. He never thought that one day he would be involved in an engagement cancellation. Just a while ago, others had approached him to call off their own engagements. Truly, fortune shifts like the tides.
"Chen, don't worry. If the Tang family doesn't behave, we at Wan Jian Mountain Manor will not let them off easily," an elder declared to Chen Anlin.
Many elders nodded in agreement. "Indeed, how dare the insignificant Tang family ask so many of us to come and cancel an engagement? They should consider themselves fortunate."
"Let’s hope they know their place; otherwise, we will leave them with nothing," another elder added.
Chen Anlin frowned at their words and shook his head. "We are only here to cancel an engagement, not to cause trouble." He still wasn't sure if it was Tang Huohuo who had wronged him, so he didn't want to escalate matters before clarifying the situation.
Meanwhile, in the Tang family’s main hall, Tang Huohuo glared angrily at the servant who had come to report and turned to her father, Tang Zhan. "Wan Jian Mountain Manor is being too arrogant!"
With a loud slap on the table, Tang Zhan exclaimed, "That Chen Anlin has come as well! He is truly courting death!"
Seated in two rows were the elders of the Tang family, all equally indignant. However, one elder sighed and cautioned, "Calm down, everyone. The influence of Wan Jian Mountain Manor is considerable, and with Chen Anlin here, if a conflict arises, it won't end well for us."
