The Emperor's Mission!
"Yes, Sister Dou'er, you have been so good to me. How could I possibly forget you? So every time I go somewhere, I will definitely bring you a gift," Chen Anlin said earnestly.
Yang Dou was touched. "What kind of gift?"
"This isn't a convenient place; let's talk in your room."
"Wait..."
"Hurry up, Sister Dou'er."
A moment later, the two arrived at Yang Dou's room. Chen Anlin took out the clothes he had purchased from the Wan Jian Mountain Manor from his storage bag.
Since the last time he had seen Yang Dou's figure, Chen Anlin had already understood her measurements and knew her size. In addition to the clothes, he had also prepared two pieces of undergarments.
"Sister Dou'er, quickly try them on and see if they fit."
Yang Dou was speechless. "I can try on the clothes, but you need to step outside."
"Sister Dou'er, that would be too distant! I've already seen you; what's wrong with helping you try on some clothes?" he replied with a grin.
"But..."
Yang Dou wanted to say that the last time he saw her was purely accidental!
"Sister Dou'er, if you don't listen to me, I might just..."
Chen Anlin's hands began to wander playfully. Under his playful threat, Yang Dou rolled her eyes at him in resignation.
She really couldn't stay angry with Chen Anlin; after all, she had always viewed him as a younger brother. But now, their relationship had definitely evolved a bit.
Sometimes when she didn't see Chen Anlin for a long time, she would find herself missing him unexpectedly—especially late at night.
"Sister Dou'er, your figure is truly amazing!" Chen Anlin exclaimed as he personally helped her change clothes.
"Alright, your clothes fit you well. You can go out now."
"No, stay a little longer and chat. Don't worry, I just want to have a casual conversation."
After being coaxed by Chen Anlin for quite some time, he finally left with a satisfied heart.
What a pity! Sister Dou'er takes that aspect too seriously; at critical moments, she always hesitates! Chen Anlin sighed deeply. However, he believed that over time, Sister Dou'er would gradually come to accept it. By then, things would be different.
Upon returning home, Chen Anlin planned to have dinner with his mother. To his surprise, Su Menghan and Su Bingyu also came over. His mother clearly knew them and welcomed them warmly.
After they had eaten and drunk their fill, his mother suggested taking the two sisters out. Once they left, Chen Fu poured himself a glass of wine and shook his head, saying, "Anlin, you rascal, are you still thinking about playing around?"
"No way," Chen Anlin replied innocently.
"Really? Menghan and Bingyu both complained to your mother that you were ignoring them and flirting outside! Ah, I've discussed this with your mother; we're not going to arrange any blind dates for you anymore since you already have someone. Find a suitable day and get married soon."
As for marriage, Chen Anlin was indifferent. He was nothing like those fated protagonists in novels who were inexplicably afraid of marriage. Some even more ridiculous ones hadn’t lost their virginity by the end of the story—that was absurd.
"It's all up to your parents," Chen Anlin nodded.
"Also, there's one more thing!" Chen Fu's expression turned serious as he frowned. "The master of Wanjian Villa sent an invitation asking me to discuss your marriage with Li Xuexin."
Chen Anlin: "So soon?"
"It's not too soon; you're not a kid anymore." Chen Fu chuckled as he heavily patted Chen Anlin on the shoulder. "Good boy, if you weren't looking for someone before, now you've found so many at once. Are you trying to make your mother so happy she might faint?"
"Dad, it's not that exaggerated; I just met more people outside—it's fate."
"But remember, don’t let anyone down; otherwise, I’ll break your legs."
After receiving this warning, Chen Anlin quickly took his leave.
In the dead of night, Chen Anlin sat in his room. Across the table sat Su Menghan and Su Bingyu.
Chen Anlin poured tea for them. After a stroll with their mother, the two had come here, but they hadn’t given him a pleasant look since. It was as if he owed them a fortune. This was quite different from before; they used to be very obedient.
"Anlin, you should talk to Menghan. She's still mad at me," Su Bingyu said with a pitiful expression. "If you hadn't forced me, I would have kept my virtue."
Chen Anlin sighed. "So it's all my fault now, is it?"
Su Menghan frowned. "Chen Anlin, you really are something! You don't even spare my sister!"
At this point, in order for the two sisters to get along peacefully in the future, Chen Anlin had no choice but to play the villain himself. He thought that if he wanted to mend their relationship, they needed a common enemy.
"Alright, Menghan, it’s good for you two sisters to be together, isn’t it?" Chen Anlin suggested.
Su Bingyu shook Su Menghan's arm. "Don’t be angry anymore. From now on, I’ll do the cooking."
"Really? Then go ahead and cook!" Su Menghan's heart stirred, and she quickly responded.
"Yes, I’ll cook," Su Bingyu affirmed.
"Well then, Anlin, my sister cooks really well," Su Menghan suddenly seemed carefree again, as if nothing had happened just moments ago.
This puzzled Chen Anlin; why would they want her to cook when there were plenty of maids available? They could handle the cooking.
"My sister makes medicinal dishes," Su Menghan explained.
Then the two sisters began chattering away, showing no signs of anger at all.
Chen Anlin let out a sigh of relief. Seeing that it was getting late, he suggested, "Well, it's quite late now. You should rest early; I might have to go out again tomorrow."
