Speaking of this matter, Lin Yao felt a bit guilty.
The star beasts were powered by special energy from the universe; they could survive without oxygen or food, as long as they had energy to absorb. They could even sleep for years without issue. If it weren't for her waking it up with the Beast Call Simulator, that star beast would likely still be in slumber, and the people of this planet wouldn't be in such a predicament.
Su Rui, however, was quite perceptive and offered comfort: "That star beast absorbed so much energy while it was sleeping that it drained this planet dry. Once the energy is exhausted, it will wake up. Besides, if we let it sleep longer, by the time it awakens, it might have evolved into a high-level star beast. At that point, it would be a disaster for the entire Yunmeng Star."
Lin Yao recalled her past life on Mingguang Star, which had technology far superior to that of today's Yunmeng Star during its peak. Such a star faced a level twelve star beast and was directly destroyed; one could only imagine what would happen to the current Yunmeng Star.
Lin Yao understood this logic well; she was just accustomed to her previous survival principles and instinctively wanted to preserve more lives. She couldn't bear to see those captured youths die at the hands of the star beasts.

Tang Zhi, like the others, had never seen a star beast before and initially thought they were just exotic beasts. It wasn't until he heard their discussion that he realized something was off. "Aren't you talking about exotic beasts?"
Su Rui couldn't help but mock him: "You Yunmeng Star folks really are as ignorant as others say. Star beasts and exotic beasts are completely different entities! Don't confuse the two. The difference in combat power between them is like that between a warship and a mech!"
Tang Zhi immediately seized on his slip of the tongue: "Aren't you from Yunmeng Star?"
Lin Yao felt somewhat speechless.
Su Rui was utterly unrestrained, revealing technology and methods that were beyond what today's Yunmeng Star possessed. Lin Yao didn't believe Tang Zhi hadn't noticed this throughout their conversation.
Now that Su Rui had exposed himself, his sudden display of having leverage over them was puzzling.
Considering they had been saved by someone, Lin Yao prepared to urge him to be kinder.
Tang Zhi continued: "Yunmeng Star hasn't opened its borders yet; all aliens coming here are doing so illegally. As a specially appointed officer of the Yunmeng Star police, I can offer you a chance to redeem yourself. If you cooperate with us this time and make amends for your crimes, I will apply for your exemption from imprisonment!"
"How shameless! I saved you, and you want to repay kindness with malice? Do you believe I could secretly kill you right now? Your Yunmeng officials wouldn't dare say a word!" Su Rui exploded in anger.
Tsk tsk, none of them were easy to deal with. She had previously thought the youths from Yunmeng Star were innocent and pure due to their lack of experience in hardship.
In the end, she realized she had misjudged them.
While the two boys continued their argument, Lin Yao suddenly noticed someone staggering toward the base from a distance, covered in blood.
If she wasn't mistaken, that person should be an escaped speed ability user.
It was strange that after all this time, he had not been killed by the star beast; instead, he had managed to escape back to the base.
"Stop arguing, someone’s coming!"
At the warning, both of them ceased their debate, lowered their heads, and hid. They watched as a figure tumbled and rolled into the base.
"Lin Yao, didn’t you say there was a star beast? Why don’t I see it?" After observing for a while without any further movement, Tang Zhi couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity.
"Something feels off." Lin Yao felt her heart racing but couldn’t pinpoint the problem. "We should move farther from the base."
Tang Zhi hesitated for a moment.
Without waiting for his response, Lin Yao grabbed each of the two boys and pulled them along.
They hadn’t gone far when they saw massive stones crashing down like meteors.
Instinctively looking up at the sky, they saw a giant lizard-like star beast with its mouth wide open, spitting stones down toward the entrance of the base.
Su Rui stared blankly at the scene, murmuring, "Isn’t this star beast a bit unusually intelligent?"
As the saying goes, it’s not the brawlers you fear but those who are clever enough to fight back.
This applied to star beasts as well. If their strength was already formidable enough to toy with humans, possessing intelligence would mean a complete and utter domination over humanity.
Reflecting on the series of events since the star beast had awakened, Lin Yao realized that this particular star beast indeed exhibited extraordinary traits.
This star beast was too unusual; it had to be eliminated!
Su Rui nodded in agreement.
As stones rained down like bullets from the sky, the underground base quickly collapsed, revealing crumbling structures and scattered humans fleeing in panic.
The situation was dire.
The only silver lining was that due to its remote location, their cell had not yet been hit. However, with stones continuously falling, it was uncertain how long their luck would hold out.
Tang Zhi’s face showed signs of anxiety. "Su Rui, can you send a message to urge for help?"
Though Su Rui was somewhat impatient, he still took out his holographic device and began operating it.
While he was busy, Lin Yao kept her eyes fixed on the situation at the base.
The base was smashed to pieces, yet there were still not many humans in sight. The Star Beast seemed to grow impatient, retracting its abilities before suddenly dropping from the sky and beginning to sweep its claws and tail across the ground.
Before long, the entire ceiling of the first floor of the base was torn open by its claws, exposing the densely packed boys and girls in the cells beneath the beast's gaze.
In a critical situation, Lin Yao couldn't afford to worry about the gap in strength. She summoned a sleek, silver mech with shimmering lights and elegant lines from the space ring given to her by Su Rui.
There was no time to waste; I have to take charge first.
Before she could finish her thought, Lin Yao had already climbed into the mech.
As she settled into the pilot's seat, a helmet-like device began to envelop her head. It felt neither tight nor constricting; instead, it was quite comfortable.
"Detecting pilot... Preparing to test mech compatibility. Please input mental energy."
In her previous life, Lin Yao had extensive experience piloting mechs. Whether they were advanced mechs, mid-level combat mechs, low-level models, or even outdated manual mechs, she had piloted them all.
With practiced ease, she channeled her mental energy into the neural interface. Soon, the mech's AI began assessing compatibility.
Hearing this, Lin Yao let out a sigh of relief.
With a successful compatibility rating, combat would be much smoother without significant lag.
