For a while, the data stopped increasing, and Lin Yao thought they had reached the limit. Suddenly, the data surged dramatically, jumping up.
The compatibility between the mech and the mech pilot reached a critical point, automatically initiating the recognition process.
Lin Yao attempted to contact Su Rui through the mech's AI to inform him of the situation, but the AI indicated that it was currently in the process of recognition.
Then the AI announced: "Recognition complete. The mech is at your service!"
Since the recognition was already complete, Lin Yao decided to set that aside for now.
"Hello, please scan the situation of the star beasts ahead."
Soon, the mech transmitted an image showing that a star beast had torn open a layer of ceiling, exposing everyone beneath it.
The boys and girls in the prison didn’t seem to know whether they were stunned or frightened; they remained completely still.
On the other hand, the others instinctively began to scatter upon seeing the star beast.
The star beast temporarily ignored those who were frozen in place and launched an attack on those who were fleeing.
However, its attacks were indiscriminate, and soon a layer of buildings was thrown into chaos by its rampage.
Seeing that the situation was about to affect the prison area, Lin Yao quickly infused her mental energy into the mental transmission device.
As her mental energy spread throughout the mech, she tried to maneuver it. It felt smooth and seamless, with no delays at all.
Without hesitation, she immediately fired an armor-piercing round at the back of the star beast.

The star beast let out an angry howl.
It quickly turned its head to search for its attacker.
Lin Yao intended to draw the star beast's attention; she didn’t hide her actions and fired another armor-piercing round at it.
This time, the star beast was prepared. A yellowish-brown aura enveloped its body, blocking her shot.
This creature was a hard-armored type of star beast and also earth-based; it was simply being unreasonable.
Lin Yao silently complained and quickly changed her position. Sure enough, the spot where she had just been standing collapsed immediately under the force of earth magic.
A mech could only carry a limited amount of armor-piercing ammunition, and Lin Yao dared not waste any more. She activated her energy gun and fired a shot directly at the enormous eye of the star beast. After firing, she didn’t wait to see if it hit; she hurriedly moved to another location. Just as she had anticipated, that area collapsed as well.
After several exchanges, it seemed that neither side could gain the upper hand in this battle. Lin Yao knew that this stalemate wouldn’t last long. Once the star beast unleashed its full power, no one would survive on this sandy planet's surface.
She could only do her best to lure the star beast away from the base. However, to her surprise, the creature was cunning enough to keep the fight within a certain range of the base and did not venture far away.
As time passed, constrained by her physical condition, she was already drenched in sweat. A communication request came through from her optical brain. The only person who could contact her now was Su Rui; Lin Yao didn’t want to think about anything else.
“Lin Yao, hold on a little longer! The Yunmeng starship will arrive in ten minutes!”
“I can’t hold out much longer. You need to get the people from the underground levels out here to fight against the star beast together. If we keep hiding, we’ll all die together!”
“Okay, I understand!”
The mech placed a high demand on her physical capabilities; just a few actions of firing and dodging had already left her exhausted. If this continued, it was likely that her body wouldn’t withstand the mech's high-speed operations and would collapse.
Perhaps because Lin Yao’s previous shots with the energy gun hadn’t inflicted much damage on the star beast, it grew overconfident and exposed its vulnerable throat to her.
Seizing the opportunity, Lin Yao aimed for its throat with an armor-piercing round. The star beast's belly armor was slightly weaker; although she didn’t hit its throat directly, the shot shattered its neck scales, revealing its tender flesh beneath.
Just as she was looking for another chance to fire again, the enraged star beast unleashed a powerful attack, causing the ground to collapse and rocks to fall simultaneously.
Lin Yao dodged one or two falling rocks, but when the third one came down, her body was pulled in a way that distracted her focus, and she was struck by a rock on her mech's left arm.
The mental energy coursing through the entire mech meant that an attack on it was equivalent to an attack on Lin Yao's own mental state.
With her body already slightly overloaded, Lin Yao suffered internal injuries from the impact. She struggled to escape the area where the stones had fallen, stopping her movement only to violently spit out a mouthful of blood.
Not daring to relax, she maneuvered her mech to fly close to the ground for a while, ensuring she had created enough distance from the star beast before coming to a halt. Seeing Lin Yao escape, the star beast did not pursue her; instead, it turned back towards the base.
Lin Yao estimated that at this point, Su Rui and Tang Zhi should be at the base calling for help. She couldn't let the star beast return unchallenged; suppressing her discomfort, she closed in and fired an energy blast at the beast's tail. The tail was likely more sensitive than other parts of its body, and even without penetrating its armor, the star beast felt pain.
It turned its head and let out a roar, wildly thrashing its tail. The massive appendage struck the ground with such force that sand and gravel flew everywhere, creating a frightening scene. As it whipped its tail around, the star beast pushed off with its hind legs and charged at Lin Yao like a giant cannonball.
Lin Yao could hardly believe that a terrestrial armored star beast could move with such speed. She made a quick decision to ascend rapidly. The mech soared into the air, spinning wildly amidst the swirling sand and gravel, crashing into a mountain ahead with tremendous force.
Even after smashing through a mountain, the star beast emerged unscathed from the rubble, slowly making its way out while letting out a deafening roar towards Lin Yao's mech in the sky. Just as Lin Yao was curious about its behavior, she suddenly saw all the shattered rocks begin to levitate.
Then, an overwhelming torrent of debris rushed towards her. The speed was too fast; Lin Yao couldn't escape the star beast's attack range in time. She dodged left and right but ultimately succumbed to her weakened state when a fast-moving rock struck her mech, sending it crashing down.
Before hitting the ground, she barely activated the mech's shield just as the star beast lunged at her. With its claw poised to strike down, Lin Yao could only think in despair: This is it!
At that critical moment, a projectile suddenly flew in from the side and struck the star beast's claw. The creature's attention was instantly diverted. Seizing this opportunity, Lin Yao quickly maneuvered her mech away from the star beast's attack range and moved swiftly to maintain a safe distance before stopping again.
At that moment, her body could no longer withstand the strain, and she violently spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Warning: The Mech Pilot's body is under extreme overload. Please disengage from the mech immediately!"
Lin Yao, at this point, didn't even have the strength to exit the mech. She could only weakly say, "Mech, please take me out."
