With Academician Zheng stepping in, there was naturally no surprise regarding Lin Yao's share. The allure of wealth can sway hearts, and to avoid any further complications, Academician Zheng decided to have the shares divided immediately, granting Lin Yao her portion on the spot.
With over a thousand pounds of materials, Lin Yao had just retrieved a ten-cubic-meter spatial storage device from the special police department, which was insufficient to hold everything. Academician Zheng waved his hand generously and lent her a one-hundred-cubic-meter storage device. He even reassured her that there was no rush to return it; she could pay him back once she had sorted everything out.
Lin Yao nodded gratefully.
At that moment, Su Rui spoke up, "Academician Zheng, could I borrow a mecha research lab from you? I want to upgrade Lin Yao's biological mecha."
"Of course, that's not a problem at all," Academician Zheng replied without any concern, instead smiling broadly. He immediately instructed his assistant to start making arrangements.
The experiment would require some time for preparation. Lin Yao thought about how she had worried Bai Zhenzhen for the past few days and decided to head back to greet her first.
Upon hearing that Lin Yao was leaving, Su Rui was reluctant to stay at the First Research Institute and insisted on accompanying her.
"But I'm currently staying at a friend's place," Lin Yao said somewhat awkwardly.
"That's fine! Maris, you can stay wherever you like; I'll help you sort it out," Academician Zheng quickly assured her.
Hearing this, Su Rui raised her chin in satisfaction and said, "Alright then!"
Soon after, Academician Zheng's assistant piloted a dedicated spacecraft, taking both of them straight to Bai Zhenzhen's small villa.
When Lin Yao returned with Su Rui and the others to Bai Zhenzhen's villa, Bai Zhenzhen calmly invited them in and mentioned preparing some refreshments before pulling Lin Yao into the kitchen at the back of the living room.
Once the door was closed, Bai Zhenzhen let out an excited shriek, "Ahhh! Academician Zheng! My idol!"
Lin Yao found it hard to empathize with her feelings and simply watched her go wild in silence.
After a few minutes of frenzy, Bai Zhenzhen finally calmed down and began adjusting her appearance.
"How do I look? Is this okay?" she asked eagerly.
Lin Yao couldn't help but laugh, "You look like you're getting ready for a date!"
This is even more exciting than meeting a lover. Do you understand the feeling of a fan meeting their idol?
Lin Yao didn’t quite understand, but she respected it, maintaining a good image. Soon after, the two of them brought out the household robot and prepared some tea and snacks, serving them to everyone present.
“Thank you,” said Academician Zheng politely, without any pretense. “You must be Bai Zhenzhen, right?”
Bai Zhenzhen struggled to suppress her excitement and nodded earnestly.
“Here’s the thing: Maris would like to stay with you for a while. I hope that’s convenient?” Academician Zheng said while pointing at Su Rui beside him.
Bai Zhenzhen hardly glanced at Su Rui, her attention solely on Academician Zheng as she nodded foolishly at everything he said.
After settling Su Rui in, Academician Zheng had other matters to attend to, so he didn’t linger and left with his companion.
Once they were gone, Bai Zhenzhen turned around and jumped into Lin Yao's arms, exclaiming, “Lin Yao, I’m so happy! My idol came to my house!”
Usually, she appeared to be a bit awkward and sensitive, almost like a mature girl. But now, seeing her pure joy like a little girl made Lin Yao feel happy too.
In contrast to her warm welcome for Academician Zheng, Bai Zhenzhen was much more distant and polite toward Su Rui. Fortunately, with the household robot around, she only needed to instruct it to take care of Su Rui without having to interact with him too much.
After settling him in the guest room on the second floor, Bai Zhenzhen pulled Lin Yao up to the third floor.
“Tell me how you know Academician Zheng and why you brought him back!”
“Well, that’s a long story.”
“It's fine; start from the beginning. I have time to listen.”
Seeing her interested expression, Lin Yao could only recount how she discovered the Level Twelve Star Beast during an exam, reported it to the invigilator, and ended up meeting Academician Zheng.
Bai Zhenzhen listened with envy bubbling inside her. “How can you be so lucky? You found a Level Twelve beast's remains and met Academician Zheng!”
The remains of a Level Twelve beast—such high-grade materials that ordinary people wouldn’t even get close to! Who wouldn’t go crazy over that?
Watching her restrained demeanor, Lin Yao mimicked her tone and boasted a little. “What can I say? It just happened!”
“Hmph! You’re driving me crazy!” Bai Zhenzhen pouted in frustration.
Lin Yao quickly rummaged through her space and pulled out a piece of vertebrae, placing it in front of Bai Zhenzhen. “Then let me make it up to you with this. Can you forgive me?”
Bai Zhenzhen immediately put away her angry expression, surprised as she held up the vertebra. Was this the bone of a Level Twelve exotic beast?
"Yes," Lin Yao confirmed with a nod.
She excitedly examined the bone, marveling at her luck. Who would have thought that one day she would hold a Level Twelve exotic beast's bone?
Lin Yao shared her excitement, fully understanding how she felt at that moment.
"However, such an expensive material—are you really going to give it to me?"
"Yes, but I can only give you one piece. The rest I need to fuse into my mech, and I’ll need to give some to the mech engineer downstairs as payment."

"Then stop interrupting."
Bai Zhenzhen immediately made a gesture for silence.
With that, Lin Yao recounted everything that had happened after their rescue, including their encounter with Academician Zheng.
Hearing about all the events she had faced in just four or five days, Bai Zhenzhen couldn't help but exclaim, "What you've experienced in these few days is more exciting than my entire ten-plus years of life! No wonder you found such treasures!"
"Speaking of which, I just remembered something."
Lin Yao took out a black object from her system space and placed it on the table. "I got this from the stomach acid of a star beast. Do you recognize it?"
"This thing can withstand the acidic stomach fluid of a star beast without damage," she explained, believing it to be valuable and having stored it in her system space upon leaving.
The system space displayed its name and notes; it was called Star Beast Treasure, with notes indicating it was a high-grade material, but its specific use was unknown.
Thinking that Bai Zhenzhen was an apothecary and knew more about materials than she did, Lin Yao wanted her help in identifying it.
